Mike Minor (shoulder) will throw his first spring training bullpen session on Wednesday. Minor is behind the other Braves' pitchers due to some shoulder soreness, but he's coming along and has plenty of time to catch up. It's not clear when the left-hander will be ready for some Grapefruit League action, but he's not in danger of missing the start of the season as long as he can avoid setbacks.

Mike Minor has battled some shoulder soreness this spring and is behind the Braves' other starters. Minor underwent a painful-sounding procedure on his urethra December 31 and was unable to throw throughout January, so he was a bit off schedule when he arrived at Braves camp. Atlanta's medical staff is optimistic that the right-hander won't have to miss a regular season start. Minor is now throwing without pain from 120 feet.

Braves avoided arbitration with LHP Mike Minor by agreeing to a one-year, $3.85 million contract. Minor qualified for arbitration eligibility this winter as a Super Two player. He earned the large raise after putting together a 3.21 ERA and 1.09 WHIP to go along with 181 strikeouts over 204 2/3 frames last season. The southpaw will have to be a key piece again in 2014 if the Braves want to repeat as NL East champs.

Mike Minor was impressive in Friday's victory over the Dodgers to even the NLDS at a game apiece, surrendering just one run on eight hits over 6 1/3 innings. Minor whiffed five in the ballgame while walking only one. The only blemish on his afternoon was an RBI double by Hanley Ramirez in the first inning. The Dodgers had several other chances to score against him, but Minor was able to bear down and get big outs when he needed to. With his success in this outing, and Kris Medlen's struggles on Thursday, there could be a tough decision to make over who would get the ball in a potential Game 5 of the series should it be necessary.

Mike Minor pitched very well in a losing effort against the Phillies on Saturday, surrendering two runs on five hits over six strong innings. Minor racked up six strikeouts on the night while walking three. All of the scoring against him came in the first inning, where Cameron Rupp delivered a two-run single. The 25-year-old southpaw took a major step forward this season, compiling a 13-9 record, 3.21 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 181/46 K/BB ratio in 204 2/3 innings. He'll be highly sought after in the middle rounds of next Spring's fantasy drafts.

Mike Minor took a loss Monday after allowing three runs in seven innings versus the Brewers. Minor was decent, but he gave up two more homers, bringing his total to seven allowed in his last five starts. He hasn't won since Aug. 25. He will likely make some sort of appearance over the weekend as a tuneup for the playoffs.

Mike Minor allowed five runs -- four earned -- on 11 hits in a loss to the Marlins on Wednesday. Minor's 11 hits allowed -- including two home runs -- was a season high, and the southpaw struck out just four in his six innings of work. Even having lost two straight, Minor is still 13-7 with a 3.15 ERA on the year. He'll have a chance to stop his mini slide at the Nationals next week.

Mike Minor allowed two runs over seven innings but was saddled with the loss against the Phillies on Friday. Minor made one mistake, which Cody Asche deposited in the right field bleachers for a two-run homer. Otherwise, Minor was terrific, striking out nine while giving up just four hits on the night. Chalk this one up as a tough-luck loss for the southpaw. Minor is in good position to get back in the win column Wednesday against the Marlins in Miami.

Mike Minor will start Sunday against the Cardinals. The Braves were planning to skip Minor's spot in the rotation this week, but things changed after Brandon Beachy had to be scratched. The 25-year-old left-hander is currently on pace to surpass 200 innings for the first time.
