Mike Minor (shoulder) pitched 2 1/3 innings in a relief appearance with Triple-A Gwinnett Tuesday, striking out four while allowing two runs (one earned). Minor wasn't pleased with the results after giving up a hit and three walks, but the important part is that his shoulder felt good. He'll make a start with the Gwinnett club on Sunday, and he's on target for a return to the Braves on April 23 or 25.

Mike Minor (shoulder) struck out five but allowed three runs on four hits over two innings in a rehab start for Double-A Mississippi Thursday. Minor served up a double and a home run in the outing. While he was hit a little harder than you'd like, the Braves have to like that he got plenty of swings and misses. Minor needs to make a few more rehab starts before rejoining the Braves' rotation at the end of the month.

Mike Minor (shoulder) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings against Braves minor leaguers Saturday in the team's Futures Game. The Braves Futures ended up winning 13-4. Minor, though, was effective in his start. According to the Augusta Chronicle's David Lee, he was right around 91 mph with his fastball. Now healthy, he still needs to build up endurance before joining Atlanta's rotation, probably in the last week of April.

Braves placed LHP Mike Minor on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 21, with shoulder soreness. Minor won't be ready to join the Braves rotation until the end of April. With the plethora of injuries and misfortune that the Braves have endured in their rotation this spring, they'll play things extra cautiously with Minor instead of rushing him back.

Mike Minor (shoulder) won't be activated from the disabled list until the the second half of April. Minor is hoping to be ready by the end of the second week of April, but recent injuries to Kris Medlen and Brandon Beachy have caused the Braves to exercise caution with their left-hander. The good news is that Minor has gone almost a month without any discomfort in his shoulder. Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Minor could make his first start in a minor league game at the end of March while starting the season on the disabled list.

Mike Minor (shoulder) threw a successful live batting practice session Monday. The left-hander thinks he could pitch in a game later this week, but he'll probably have one more live BP session instead. Minor is expected to begin the season on the disabled list but, assuming he has no setbacks, will likely be ready on April 12 when the Braves first need a fifth starter.

Mike Minor (shoulder) is scheduled to throw live batting practice on Monday or Tuesday. The young left-hander still hopes to be ready by April 12, which is the first time that the Braves would need to utilize a fifth starter. With their rotation already depleted by the losses of Kris Medlen and Brandon Beachy, expect the Braves to play it cautiously and not risk further injury by rushing Minor back into the fray.

Braves general manager Frank Wren said he is hoping Mike Minor (shoulder) will return "near the end of the regular season's second week." This hasn't changed from Wren's previous quotes. Minor felt some soreness in his shoulder at the start of camp, a byproduct of inactivity following a urinary tract procedure in December. With Atlanta's rotation taking a hit in lieu of news that Kris Medlen is heading for a consultation with Dr. James Andrews, Atlanta fans are hoping for an expeditious Minor recovery.

Mike Minor (shoulder) threw 21 pitches Wednesday in his first bullpen session of the spring. Minor felt some soreness in his shoulder at the start of camp, a byproduct of some inactivity following a urinary tract procedure on December 31, but he's beginning to make some real progress. He'll continue to throw off the mound every other day before advancing to live batting practice. As of now, the hope is that he could be ready to join Atlanta's rotation at the end of the second week of the season.
