Minor (shoulder) will not start again this season, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports. An MRI taken on Minor's shoulder revealed no structural damage, but given that the start of his season was delayed by a shoulder injury, the Braves will not take any chances and shut him down for the season. David Hale will take Minor's spot in the rotation, which comes up Thursday.

Minor left Saturday's game with shoulder discomfort in the first inning. Minor will be evaluated further in the dugout to determine the severity of his discomfort. The 26-year-old has suffered three consecutive losses in September and this injury news certainly doesn't make things better.

Minor labored through 4.2 innings in Sunday's loss to the Rangers, giving up five earned runs on eight hits and three walks while recording just one strikeout. After rolling through his last six starts with a 2.59 ERA and 0.98 WHIP, Minor's stretch of strong work came to a sudden stop Sunday afternoon. The Braves' lefty never seemed to find a rhythm and struggled with command throughout this outing, as his pitch count reached 107 before being lifted in the fifth inning. Minor will be in search of a rebound next weekend against the Mets.

Minor was a tough-luck loser Monday, holding the Nationals to two runs in six innings. Minor has had a trying year, but finally seems to be turning things on of late. The lefty has allowed no more than three runs in any of his last six starts. Minor will carry a 4.58 ERA into his start against the Texans this weekend.

Minor (6-9) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three earned runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out five over 7.1 innings against the Phillies. Minor wasn't horrible in this one, but his offense mustered exactly zero runs in front of him as the Braves' bats were shut out by Kyle Kendrick and the Phillies. Also, this was the fourth straight start the southpaw has lasted seven innings of more, an encouraging sign as the Braves push for a playoff spot in the final month of the regular season. He'll have a tough assignment against the first-place Nats in his next start Monday.

Minor tossed seven strong innings against the Mets on Thursday to earn his sixth win of the season. He gave up just one run and four hits while striking out five batters. Minor took a shutout into the eighth inning, but was pulled after allowing a double and single to start the frame. It's been a rough season for Minor, but he's turned things around lately, with four straight quality starts and 24 strikeouts during that period (28.1 innings). The home run ball has been an issue for Minor all year, although he's given up just two long balls in his last four starts. He's got a favorable matchup in his next start, taking on Philadelphia at home.

Minor struck out five and walked four while holding the Reds to one run on one hits over 7.2 innings Friday night. The Braves' offense didn't play the eventual game-winning run until extra innings, preventing Minor from finding his way into the win column. Minor carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning Friday, while the appearance lowered his season ERA to 4.90 (the first time since July 12 he's been below 5.00), and marked his third consecutive quality start.

Minor tossed seven strong innings Sunday night, allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks while piling up seven strikeouts in a victory over the A's. The Braves' decision to skip Minor's turn in the rotation earlier this month has seemed to cure his struggles on the mound, at least in the short term. The 26-year-old southpaw has put together back-to-back quality efforts, as he has allowed five earned runs while posting a 1.10 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB ratio across his last 13.2 innings. Minor will be back on the mound Friday in Cincinnati.

Minor fell to 4-8 on Tuesday, allowing three runs on eight hits in 6.2 innings against the Dodgers. He also fanned seven and issued just one free pass. Tough luck for the struggling southpaw, who actually tossed the ball well in this one, especially since he was able to keep the ball in the yard after allowing a combined 12 homers in his previous 10 starts. By now, it's no secret to owners that Minor's numbers this season are far from they expected them to be, as his 5.33 ERA and 1.58 WHIP through 18 starts are well above his career marks of 4.15 and 1.28. Furthermore, he hasn't been able to regain the form that earned him a 13-9 record with a 3.21 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 2013, making him a noteworthy fantasy bust in the starting pitcher's department this season. He's slated to toe the rubber again Sunday in a very tough match against the Athletics.

Minor is lined up to make two starts this week, Tuesday at home against the Dodgers and Sunday at home against the A's. The Braves opted to skip the struggling Minor's last start after he was lit up to the tune of five runs on nine hits over five innings against the Padres, but he will return to the rotation Tuesday as expected. It's always possible, however, that the team could turn elsewhere for Sunday's start should Minor struggle against Los Angeles, so proceed with caution.
