Boyd (6-4) pitched eight fantastic innings, limiting the Twins to one run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven in Tuesday's victory.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd matched his career-high strikeout total Tuesday en route to his first win his since Aug. 24. The southpaw threw 68 percent of his pitches for strikes, inducing a large amount of swings and misses (13), while lowering his ERA to 4.16. It was an encouraging bounce-back effort following one of Boyd's worst starts of the season. The 25-year-old sophomore has allowed three runs or fewer in 11 of his 12 starts since the All-Star break. Boyd will take the hill Monday against Cleveland for his next start.

Boyd (5-4) was crushed for 3.2 innings, allowing seven runs, eight hits and one walk while striking out two in Tuesday's loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
The outing was far and away Boyd's worst since returning from the DL in early July. Before Tuesday, he hadn't allowed more than three runs in an outing since June 18 while posting a 5-1 record over 10 starts in that time. Getting hammered by one of MLB's worst lineups can certainly be discouraging for fantasy owners, but Boyd's second-half performance to date is deserving of at least one free pass. The southpaw will look to rebound when he toes the rubber for his next start Sunday in Cleveland.

Boyd (5-3) allowed another long ball on the road, but overall, he pitched well, allowing two runs on eight hits over seven frames in a loss to the White Sox on Tuesday. He also struck out six and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
Jose Abreu hit a solo homer in the second off Boyd, and that's all Chicago would need, as they went on to win 2-0. Boyd has give up eight home runs in just 43.1 innings away from Comerica Park, which has led to a 4.74 road ERA, but overall, he is 5-3 with a 3.89 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 73 strikeouts in 85.2 innings.

Boyd was officially recalled ahead of Tuesday's start against the White Sox in Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
He was optioned down just a week ago but Boyd was eligible to return to the big club with Triple-A Toledo's season ending Monday. Boyd has turned in respectable numbers in 16 appearances (14 starts) with the Detroit this season but he's had issues with the long ball, especially on the road (5.20 ERA).

Boyd, who was optioned to Triple-A earlier in the week, will be activated and start against Chicago on Tuesday, reports MLive.com.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd was subject to the roster move because he was available options. He struggled his last time out, giving up seven hits, two walks and two earned runs in 4.0 innings against the White Sox.

Boyd was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Over 16 games with the Tigers, Boyd has built a 4.00 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. He'd been improving in recent contests as he posted a 2.55 ERA over his last 10 appearances. However, he'll return to Toledo, where he owns a 2.25 ERA and 1.11 WHIP for the year. In a corresponding move, Blaine Hardy was recalled from Toledo.

Boyd allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts but lasted just four innings in a no-decision Monday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd allowed the first two batters in the fifth inning to reach as well, but luckily for him, reliever Alex Wilson was able to stem the threat or else his line would look a whole lot worse. Boyd induced 11 swinging strikes but was having trouble finding the zone -- he managed just 11 called strikes in 94 pitches. Boyd has shown flashes of brilliance, but due to his inconsistency, his ERA sits at a middling 4.00.

Boyd (5-2) gave up three runs on five hits and a walk over six innings Wednesday, striking out seven Twins in a 9-4 win.
EDGE Analysis
He gave up a couple more homers, continuing what's been a perpetual issue on that front -- Boyd now owns an awful 1.57 HR/9. That's far better than last year's nightmarish 2.67 mark, but it leaves Boyd on the low end for fantasy purposes. His moderate strikeout rate and long-ball-friendly tendencies make him a dicey play on a start-to-start basis, but it's worth noting that Boyd has delivered three consecutive quality outings, giving up just four runs on 12 hits in 19 innings over that span (which notably includes starts against the Red Sox and Rangers, two strong offenses).

Boyd (4-2) pitched six innings, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out four in a no-decision Thursday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The young left-hander tied his career high of 106 pitches while navigating his way through the dangerous Red Sox lineup like a veteran Thursday. That makes two straight impressive starts for Boyd, who allowed just two hits while tossing seven scoreless innings last time out against the Rangers. Boyd's efforts lowered his ERA to 3.93, its best mark in more than two months. His next scheduled start is set for Wednesday in Minnesota against a Twins team he limited to just three hits over six scoreless innings back on July 18.

Boyd will start against the Rangers on Saturday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd will have a week between starts when he takes the mound Saturday, after pitching against the Mets this past Saturday. He got the win, only allowing three earned runs off six hits and three walks while striking out five. Boyd also made a relief appearance Tuesday, tossing a scoreless inning against the Mariners.
