Boyd (3-5) gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three in Tuesday's win over Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
This marks his first victory since the middle of April and his ERA is still 5.58, which should give you an idea of Boyd's fantasy value at this point. His terrific minor-league track record suggests that Boyd may turn the corner one day, but there's been no sign of him carrying that success forward into the big leagues so far.

Boyd will toe the rubber against the Royals on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd will make his first start at the major-league level since May 31, when he was rocked for four earned runs off seven hits during 3.2 innings of work against Kansas City. He will attempt to fare better against the division rivals this time around after spending eight starts down at the Triple-A level with Toledo. During that time, he has posted a 2.94 ERA with a 0.98 WHIP and 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings. If he can provide punch outs on a more regular basis -- which has been an area that he has regressed since last season with the Tigers -- he could get the chance to hang around the big leagues for more than a couple starts.

Boyd was optioned back to Triple-A Toledo on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd was brought up as the 26th man to start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Royals, but will head back to Toledo following a rough afternoon. The young southpaw was gave up four runs -- all earned -- on seven hits over just 3.2 innings, raising his major league ERA to 5.69 on the season. Look for Boyd to be a top option if the Tigers need an extra arm down the road.

Boyd was called up prior to Saturday's doubleheader to serve as the team's 26th man.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd was originally slated to start one of Saturday's game, but will merely serve as another arm out of the bullpen following Friday's rainout. He has struggled during his time in the big leagues this season, posting a 5.69 ERA with a 1.77 WHIP. Recording just 37 strikeouts (opposed to 24 walks) in 55.1 innings, Boyd hasn't been providing much in terms of fantasy value.

Boyd is no longer in line to start a game Saturday following Friday's postponement.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers will go with Anibal Sanchez in the matinee and Jordan Zimmermann in the nightcap against Cleveland. There's still a chance Boyd could come up, but it would merely be to provide bullpen help, likely as the 26th man for the twin bill.

Boyd will be recalled from Triple-A Toledo to start one game of Saturday's doubleheader with the Indians, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd, who was banished to the minors on June 2, will serve as the 26th man in the doubleheader, meaning he'll likely head back to Toledo once the twin bill is completed. Jordan Zimmermann is in line to start the other half of the doubleheader. Since moving to Triple-A, Boyd has performed admirably, albeit against lower-caliber competition. In five starts, he's compiled a 3.00 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 32:8 K:BB over 27 innings.

Boyd is a likely option to start one of the Tigers' doubleheader games on Saturday against the Indians, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw was pulled just four innings into his Triple-A start Tuesday night, prompting speculation he was receiving a call to the majors. Boyd, who made 11 starts with the Tigers before being sent down, will get a another chance to prove his place in the big leagues after posting a 5.69 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in his earlier stint, but most likely heads back to Toledo following the outing. Jordan Zimmerman is on tap to start the other game Saturday.

Boyd was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd has had a rough season out of starting rotation for Detroit, posting a 5.69 ERA and a 1.77 WHIP over 11 starts, so he'll head down to the minors as he works out the kinks. The southpaw remains a viable option for a call-up later this season, but his 7.28 ERA over the month of May simply couldn't justify a starting spot. It remains unclear who will take his spot in the rotation, though recently-recalled Warwick Saupold represents a likely option. Reliever Daniel Stumpf was recalled in a corresponding move.

Boyd allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out just a single batter over 3.2 innings during Wednesday's win over Kansas City. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw has surrendered at least three runs in each of his past seven starts for a 6.63 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and an underwhelming 5.6 K/9. Boyd will need to turn things around in a hurry or his rotation spot could be in jeopardy, if it isn't already. He's certainly off the fantasy radar for the time being. A home start against the Angels is on deck, and without Mike Trout, Los Angeles doesn't project as a daunting matchup.

Mon 5/22/17 12:22 AM

Boyd (2-4) allowed four runs on 12 hits with no walks across 5.1 innings in Sunday's loss to the Rangers. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd had no trouble finding the strike zone, posting his first outing without issuing a walk this season, but he gave up a constant procession of base-hits and was removed shortly after surrendering a solo home run to Pete Kozma with one out in the sixth inning. Boyd fired the third of a trio of quality starts earlier this month, but he has since allowed 11 runs in his last 7.2 innings to grow his ERA to 5.36. His poor 33:21 K:BB has made it difficult for him to string successful outings together, and he will look to improve on this figure Friday against the White Sox.
