Wieters (elbow) is slated to catch eight innings Tuesday at extended spring training, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports. Wieters has steadily increased his innings count behind the plate over the last week, and is on track to catch a full game Thursday and Saturday. If all goes well during those outings, Wieters may be cleared to begin a rehab assignment with one of the organization's minor-league affiliates. Wieters was previously set to catch for High-A Frederick over the weekend before the Orioles elected to pump the brakes on that plan.

Wieters (elbow) will catch seven innings with High-A Frederick on Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports. Wieters caught seven innings at extended spring training Thursday, and will now move elsewhere. It's unclear how much longer he'll miss because of the issue, but the backstop is making good progress. Caleb Joseph and Ryan Lavarnway will continue to handle duties behind the plate until he rejoins the club.

Wieters (elbow) caught seven innings at extended spring training Thursday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports. Wieters still has not caught a full game, nor back to back games, but with seven innings in his pocket Thursday he might get there soon. Wieters experienced some triceps soreness after Thursday's game, but manager Buck Showalter brushed it off as normal soreness. There is still no timetable for Wieters to make a minor league rehab appearance, which means he is probably at least a week away embarking on a trip.

Wieters does not have a return timetable yet and is catching every other day in extended spring training, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports. Having no timetable isn't probably cause for concern yet, as long as you expected him to make his return in June and not earlier. MASN's Roch Kubatko reports he's still has occasional soreness in his elbow, which can be expected from any Tommy John recoverer. This is all to say that Wieters' return will be a process with several steps to check up on, not just a single "he's back and ready to play" date.

Wieters probably won't join the Orioles until late May or early June, the Baltimore Sun reports. Wieters remains without a timetable to return, but he's been getting some work in extended spring training games, and could begin a rehab assignment within the next week or two. It sounds as if he still has a good shot to join the Orioles by the end of May, but a return by the middle part of the month now seems unlikely.

Wieters (elbow) caught four innings of an extended spring training game Monday and may catch against Tuesday, MASN Sports reports. No one attempted to steal on Wieters, so he remains untested on throws to second. The Orioles probably want Wieters to be able to catch a full game before sending him out on a rehab. The timeline for that is probably still at least a week away.

Wieters (elbow) played in an extended spring training game Friday, catching 2-3 innings, but remains without a timetable, Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports. Wieters continues to progress from an elbow issue that sent him to the disabled list to begin the season. His timetable remains open-ended at this point, but the fact that he's able to catch a few innings is a good sign at this point.

Wieters threw from 120 feet, caught three bullpen sessions, and had five at bats in a simulated game Wednesday, MASN Sports reports. Wieters has been progressing well as he's ramped up the workload of late. The 28-year-old has now been able to hit live pitching, throw, and play the field, so a return to game action in a rehab stint could be coming soon. There's no exact timetable yet, but Wieters appears to still be on track for his state goal of being ready by the beginning of May.

Wieters (elbow) threw from 150 feet and hit from both sides of the plate Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports. Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Wieters is starting to feel good, which continues the recent theme of quick progress. While the Orioles haven't laid out a timetable, Wieters said last week that he hopes to return at the beginning of May.
