The backstop is still getting his feet wet after missing the first two months of the season, but his bat appears to be coming around. Of Wieters' nine hits, five have gone for extra bases, including each of his last three hits. Wieters now holds a .333 average and two home runs on the season.

Wieters had his best game since returning from the DL on Saturday, going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and runs scored. However, manager Buck Showalter will continue to ease the backstop into a fuller workload, as Wieters will sit for the third time in five games. Caleb Joseph gets the nod behind the plate.

Wieters is scheduled to catch Saturday night, according to MASN Sports reports. Wieters is yet to catch in back-to-back games since returning from Tommy John surgery. The Orioles have the DH option but did not use Wieters in that role in two of the last three games. The Orioles are using him sparingly and there is no indication at when he will be able to go in back-to-back games.
