Shoemaker (oblique) played catch Monday and will throw a bullpen session Tuesday if he feels good, the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher reports.
He continues to throw and it is looking more and more likely that he will be able to be used in some fashion during the postseason.

Shoemaker (oblique) threw a successful bullpen session Sunday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Shoemaker needed this bullpen session to go well in order to prove to manager Mike Scioscia that he could be counted on in a playoff start, and it appears he did just that. Provided he didn't experience any unnoticed setbacks, look for the 28-year-old righty to join the Halos' postseason rotation.

Shoemaker (oblique) will likely throw a bullpen session Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
Shoemaker went through a long toss session Saturday and reported a little tightness, but he felt that it would go away shortly. He will not be available for Sunday's season finale, but he could have a chance to pitch when the postseason begins later next week.

Shoemaker (oblique) feels like he's close to getting on the mound, the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher reports.
He played light catch on his off day Friday, but when he refers to getting on the mound, he's not talking about the regular season. Without Shoemaker in the playoff rotation, the Angels would have a uniquely awful set of starting pitchers for a team with the best record in the league, but regardless of Shoemaker's advances, he likely won't be able to help owners in the regular season.

Shoemaker (oblique) played catch Wednesday from 90 feet at roughly 60 percent intensity, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports.
This confirms the notion that Shoemaker won't return during the regular season, as the Angels are simply trying to get him healthy enough to make an appearance in the playoffs.

Shoemaker (oblique) played catch Tuesday, the Orange County Register reports.
Shoemaker was cleared to resume some light throwing Monday, after being shut down for nearly a week due to an oblique strain, and he felt well enough to play catch again Tuesday. A timetable for his return to mound work remains uncertain, but he is not expected to pitch again during the regular season, and will instead look to get healthy enough to contribute during the postseason.

Shoemaker (oblique) has just a "very remote" chance of pitching during the final week of the regular season, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports.
Shoemaker and the Angels seem optimistic about his chances of pitching in the postseason, but he doesn't appear likely to get a tune-up start during the final week of the regular season. The right-hander played catch on Monday, and it didn't appear to cause him much discomfort, further asserting the notion that his oblique strain is considered to be mild. The Angels will take a conservative approach for now, but likely won't hesitate to deploy Shoemaker and his 3.04 ERA when needed in the playoffs.

Shoemaker (oblique) will miss his next start, Pedro Moura of the Orange County Register reports.
Although Shoemaker's MRI revealed just a "very mild" oblique strain, the team will play it safe and skip the right-hander at least one time through the rotation. A replacement was not immediately named. Beyond the one start, Shoemaker's status is uncertain, but he did say that he expects to be ready to go come the postseason.

Shoemaker has been diagnosed with a left oblique strain, but he described it as "very mild," Pedro Moura of the Orange County Register reports.
The Angels sent Shoemaker for an MRI after he left Monday's start early, and the results were generally positive. Shoemaker is not sure whether he'll be able to make his next start, but he described himself as just day-to-day and seems to have little doubt that he'll be ready to contribute in the postseason.

Shoemaker was removed from a game against the Mariners on Monday due to an issue with his rib cage, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
Shoemaker cruised through 7.2 innings Monday, allowing just one run and striking out five before being lifted from the contest. The 27-year-old wanted to keep pitching, which may indicate that he is dealing with a minor ailment, but as important as he has been to the Angels down the stretch, the team will likely take no chances where his health is concerned. He will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.
