Shoemaker allowed a run on seven hits in 6.2 innings to pick up a win over the Rangers on Wednesday. Shoemaker bounced back nicely from his four-inning performance against the Twins on Sept. 5, but he was still without his strikeout pitch, and has now fanned just four batters in his last 10.2 innings. However he got it done, Shoemaker picked up his 15th win of the season Wednesday. He will take a 3.16 ERA into a start against the Mariners on Monday.

Shoemaker allowed three runs on six hits over four innings en route to a no-decision against the Astros on Friday. Shoemaker didn't seem to have his bearings Friday, as the three walks he surrendered equaled his total from his previous three starts combined. He also struck out just two in the contest, his lowest such mark in a start since Aug. 1. Despite the shaky performance, Shoemaker has been awfully good for the Halos of late, as he tallied a 1.31 ERA in six starts last month. He will take a 3.25 ERA into an outing against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Shoemaker put together a shutout on five hits while striking out seven in seven innings in the Angels' 8-1 win over the Athletics on Sunday. Shoemaker is on a tear lately, recording three straight shutouts of seven innings or more. He's also won his last five starts. His 1.57 ERA in August has lowered his season ERA to 3.14.

Shoemaker threw seven scoreless innings against the Marlins while striking out six and walking two to pick up a victory Tuesday. It's looking as though Shoemaker could be an important part of the Angels' rotation down the stretch, as the 27-year-old hasn't allowed a run in his last 14.2 innings, while striking out 15 over that span. He will look to continue to stabilize the back end of the rotation when he faces the A's on Sunday.

Shoemaker turned in a dominant performance against the Red Sox on Thursday, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out nine over 7.2 innings to pick up his 12th win of the season. A day after the Halos lost Garrett Richards (knee) for the season, Shoemaker did his best to fill the shoes of the hard-throwing right hander, as he held the Red Sox without a baserunner until the bottom of the seventh inning after hitting Brock Holt with a pitch to open the bottom of the first. The Angels will need their pitchers to step up following the injury to Richards if they want to maintain their hold on the top spot in the AL West, and Shoemaker is looking like he will be a reliable piece of the puzzle going forward, as he hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in an outing over his last five starts.

Shoemaker allowed two runs on four hits in 5.2 innings to collect his 11th win of the season against the Rangers on Saturday. He struck out six and walked a batter in the contest. Shoemaker fell just short of notching a quality start Saturday, as manager Mike Scioscia decided that 96 pitches was the 27-year-old's limit after he allowed a two-out single to Leonys Martin. Shoemaker continues to impress as a starting pitcher in 2014, as he has tallied a 3.76 ERA with 79 strikeouts and 15 walks in 81.1 innings.

Shoemaker was dominant in a relief outing Saturday, pitching three no-hit innings while striking out four en route to picking up a win over the Red Sox. Shoemaker wasn't supposed to be available out of the bullpen Saturday, but it was all hands on deck in the 17th inning, when the right-hander took over for Jason Grilli. Shoemaker was invaluable to the Angels on this night, but Matthew DeFranks of MLB.com reported that he will not make his scheduled start Tuesday as a result of the outing. C.J. Wilson will take the ball against the Phillies in his stead.

Shoemaker allowed two runs on six hits over six innings to take a loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday. He struck out five and walked two in the contest. Shoemaker rebounded nicely after a rocky second inning to throw four scoreless frames, but it wasn't enough to take the victory. The 27-year-old has had his struggles of late, but has been more than serviceable in his role as a starter this season, tallying a 3.81 ERA with 73 strikeouts in 75.2 innings. He will look for a better result in his next start against the Phillies on Tuesday

Matt Shoemaker allowed three hits over seven innings and combined with two relievers on a shutout of the Tigers on Saturday. Just when it seemed Shoemaker's run of good luck was up, he comes up with a gem against one of the AL's best lineups to improve to 8-3 with a 4.13 ERA. Whatever chances there were of the Angels trading for another starting pitcher took a hit tonight. Still, we don't recommend Shoemaker as a mixed-league pickup.

Matt Shoemaker struck out 10 but fell to 7-3, allowing four runs over 5 2/3 innings as the Angels lost to the Orioles 4-2 on Monday. Shoemaker didn't walk a batter and surrendered five hits. He would have won this game, but couldn't figure out how to pitch to Adam Jones, against whom he served up a pair of two-run homers. The right-hander has shuffled between the rotation and bullpen all year, entering this contest 6-1 with a 4.15 ERA as a starter. Despite the loss, the Angels are the majors' best home team at 34-17.
