The right-hander played catch on Monday, and it didn't appear to cause him much discomfort, further asserting the notion that his oblique strain is considered to be mild. The Angels will take a conservative approach for now, but likely won't hesitate to deploy Shoemaker and his 3.04 ERA when needed in the playoffs.
