Shoemaker (forearm) felt pain during his first rehab start Tuesday, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shoemaker went three full shutout innings, only allowing two baserunners and striking out five during Tuesday's start, but more importantly, the right-hander felt renewed pain in his forearm during the contest. Manager Mike Scioscia stated the Shoemaker's rehab appearance will be put on hold until the team can reevaluate his arm.

Shoemaker (forearm) is scheduled to begin his rehab assignment with High-A Inland Empire, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shoemaker's rehab is back on track, and he's set to throw three to four innings for the 66ers in his first rehab start. The 30-year-old will need one more rehab start after Tuesday, so it appears he won't be back until after the All-Star break.

Shoemaker (forearm) had his scheduled bullpen session Thursday pushed back due to illness, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Mike Scioscia said it's still unclear when Shoemaker will be able to move forward with his rehab, as the team is unlikely to rush him back into action. The right-hander has been out since June 15, when he encountered forearm tightness during his start against the Yankees, but is likely to begin a minor-league rehab assignment once he completes the bullpen session. Nonetheless, it's becoming more unlikely Shoemaker is able to return prior to the All-Star break.

Shoemaker (forearm) played catch Wednesday and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Thursday, Elliot Teaford of the Southern California News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is positive news for Shoemaker, who was able to play catch for the first time since suffering a setback last week. If everything goes well during Thursday's bullpen session, Shoemaker could be cleared to head out on a rehab assignment shortly after, at which point a clearer timetable for his return should emerge. In the meantime, Parker Bridwell will continue to fill in for him in the rotation.

General manager Billy Eppler said Shoemaker (forearm) underwent an MRI on Saturday that showed no structural damage, Maria Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While this is good news, Shoemaker is still apparently experiencing some issues on the top of his forearm, so he'll head back Los Angeles to be reevaluated. A revised timetable for his return should be available following his reevaluation. In the meantime, Parker Bridwell will take another turn in the rotation Sunday while Shoemaker continues to work back from his forearm issue.

Shoemaker (forearm) is not ready to come off the disabled list, and is headed back to Southern California to be reevaluated, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shoemaker was looking to return Sunday for a matchup with the Red Sox, but instead will head back to get checked out again before returning to the big-league club. Parker Bridwell is in line to make another start with Shoemaker still recovering from a forearm extensor strain. Although the right-hander played catch Tuesday and Wednesday without any hiccups, the Angels are going to stress precaution with Shoemaker to make sure he's good to go by the time he steps back on the mound.

Shoemaker (forearm) played catch out to 120 feet Wednesday, The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shoemaker is inching towards a return, as he was able to up the intensity from his throwing session Tuesday with no issues. The 30-year-old remains hopeful that he'll be able to rejoin the rotation Sunday against the Red Sox, but he'll need to get through a bullpen session before the weekend if he wants that to happen. If Shoemaker isn't ready to go Sunday, Parker Bridwell would likely take another turn in the Angels' rotation.

Shoemaker (forearm) played catch Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is the first inkling of progress that's been reported thus far, although the embattled right-hander is still hopeful that he can return in time to start Sunday's contest with the Red Sox. He'll likely need to ramp up his throwing significantly in the coming days in order for that to happen, so his status for Sunday's game should become clear in the coming days. If Shoemaker is unable to give it a go, Parker Bridwell would likely take another turn in the Angels' rotation.

Shoemaker (forearm) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Shoemaker was already expected to miss his next start, and now it appears the forearm injury is serious enough to warrant a stay on the disabled list. A more concrete timetable for his return should come forth as the Angels provide more information. Parker Bridwell was recalled from Triple-A and is a strong candidate to take Shoemaker's turn in the rotation while he is sidelined.

Shoemaker (forearm) showed improvement Friday but is a "long shot" to make his scheduled start Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear at this point if Shoemaker's injury will require a disabled list trip or if he will just miss the one start. The Angels already have a plethora of injuries to their starting rotation, so if Shoemaker can't go, they may have to dip into the minors to find a starter for Tuesday's contest against the Yankees.
