Shoemaker (forearm) was reinstated from the 60-day DL on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
This was a bookkeeping move with no DL available in the offseason. Shoemaker underwent surgery in August to release the radial nerve in his forearm, but recently completed a simulated game and was subsequently cleared for a normal winter. He should return to a starting role in 2018.

Shoemaker tossed three simulated innings Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shoemaker (forearm) passed his final test and has been cleared for a normal winter, according to General Manager Billy Eppler. The 31-year-old pitcher posted a respectable 3.75 ERA across 77.2 innings before landing on the disabled list in 2017. He'll be ready to go for spring training, and will look to build on his solid performance from last season.

Shoemaker threw Tuesday for the first time since undergoing surgery on his forearm Aug. 8, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shoemaker likely did not do much more than play catch Tuesday, but his activity indicates his recovery is going as planned. Shoemaker hopes to be back in pitching form by late October, so he will not pitch again during the regular season, and will not even have a chance to pitch again in 2017 unless the Angels reach the World Series. Barring any setbacks though, it appears Shoemaker should be back at 100 percent well in advance of spring training next year.

Shoemaker was shifted to the 60-day disabled list on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Shoemaker underwent forearm surgery August 8 and is out for the season. This move creates a roster spot for Friday's waiver claim, former Reds reliever Blake Wood.

Shoemaker underwent successful forearm surgery Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
As was previously reported, Shoemaker underwent surgery Tuesday to release the radial nerve in his injured forearm. He'll be out for the remainder of the 2017 season but should be ready to return in 2018.

Shoemaker (forearm) will undergo surgery Tuesday and will not return until next season.
EDGE Analysis
The surgery will release the radial nerve in his throwing arm, and the procedure carries a 12-to-14 week recovery timetable, which means he won't see the mound again until 2018. Shoemaker finishes his fifth season in the majors with a 4.52 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 28:69 BB:K through 14 starts (77.2 innings, 6-3 record). He last pitched on June 14 before suffering the injury.

Shoemaker (forearm) has not had his symptoms improve and is considering undergoing surgery.
EDGE Analysis
Shomaker hasn't started since June 14 and has been experiencing symptoms of radial nerve compression ever since. Surgery would likely cost Shoemaker a significant chunk of 2018, if not the whole season, but as it has been nearly two months without improvement, he's starting to run out of options.

Shoemaker (forearm) began throwing from 150-200 feet Tuesday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shoemaker began playing catch 10 days ago and has now ramped up his rehab to accommodate the long-toss. He'll look to begin throwing from the mound in the coming days and then will likely require a minor-league rehab stint. Shoemaker is still at least a couple of weeks away from rejoining the Angels' rotation.

Shoemaker (forearm) is going to play light catch Friday, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injured right-hander had previously been shut down after receiving a cortisone injection earlier in the month, but he's finally feeling well enough to throw again. He still has a ways to go in his throwing program, so an early or mid-August return seems realistic in this case, although a firmer timetable should develop as he ramps up his throwing.

Shoemaker (forearm) will be completely shut down for the next 7-to-10 days after being diagnosed with posterior interosseous nerve syndrome.
EDGE Analysis
Shoemaker had felt pain in the forearm during his first rehab appearance Tuesday, and was given a cortisone injection following the meeting with team physicians. Once the right-hander recovers from the injection and his symptoms fade, he will be able to restart his throwing progression, likely pushing back his return to late July/early August. Shoemaker will be subject to a few rehab appearances prior to his return to the big leagues, with a clear timetable coming after he becomes able to start throwing again.
