Matt Moore (abdominal discomfort) said he felt "back to normal" during a bullpen session Saturday.
Moore had been nursing some abdominal discomfort since the beginning of camp, but he's been pain-free for a few days and seems to be all systems go. He'll likely appear in a game later this week. Moore will enter the 2012 season with big-time breakout potential.

Matt Moore is scheduled to throw his first bullpen session on Saturday.
Moore is recovering from a mid-lower abdominal injury and will throw his first of two scheduled bullpen sessions on Saturday. Rays manager Joe Maddon hasn't ruled out the possibility of him pitching in a game next week. Rays executive vice president Andrew Friedman recently said that Moore's innings will be watched but don't have to be limited because he's been "built up in a pretty systematic way" in the minors.

Matt Moore said he no longer feels pain in his abdomen.
Moore has been nursing a mid-lower abdominal issue since the beginning of camp, but he's been playing catch the last couple days without any issues. It's not clear when he'll have his first bullpen session of spring training, but he's headed in the right direction. The lefty will have plenty of time to get ready for the start of the season.

Matt Moore (abdominal discomfort) is scheduled to play catch Thursday from a distance of 100 feet.
Moore "felt good" after playing catch from a distance of 75 feet on Wednesday. The Rays are merely bringing him along slowly following his minor abdominal issue, so the southpaw should begin throwing from a mound soon enough.

Matt Moore (abdominal discomfort) is scheduled to be reevaluated Thursday.
Moore said he "felt good" after playing catch from a distance of 75 feet on Wednesday. The Rays were merely being cautious with the 22-year-old left-hander over the past couple of days, so he shouldn't have much trouble catching up with the rest of the pitchers in camp.

Matt Moore (abdominal discomfort) played catch Wednesday at Rays' camp.
Moore won't throw live batting practice Wednesday, but the fact that he was playing catch is a good sign that his abdominal issue is nearly behind him. The 22-year-old left-hander should still have plenty of time to get ready for the new season. He appears primed to make a major impact as a rookie.

Matt Moore (abdominal discomfort) is not likely to throw live batting practice Wednesday.
The hope was that Moore would be able to resume his throwing program by the middle of this week, but the Rays are going to play it as safe as possible with their prized 22-year-old left-hander this early in the spring. The abdominal issue is not considered serious, and Moore should have little trouble playing catch-up in the month of March. He has the potential to be a fantasy ace right away.

Matt Moore (abdominal discomfort) is aiming to resume his throwing program on Wednesday.
"It feels like a sore muscle," Moore said Monday, downplaying the severity of his mild ab discomfort. The 22-year-old left-hander should have no trouble getting back on track, and remains a potential fantasy ace.

Matt Moore will not throw his batting practice session Monday due to abdominal discomfort.
The Rays are calling it a "precautionary measure," meaning they think it's a minor issue that won't suddenly become major. Moore is one of our favorite sleepers of 2012 after registering a 12.7 K/9 and 2.64 ERA in his minor league career. The 22-year-old lefty should be able to play catch-up once the ab discomfort subsides.

Rays executive vice president Andrew Friedman said Matt Moore won't have an innings limit in 2012.
Friedman noted that Moore has been "built up in a pretty systematic way" throughout his minor league career, with innings totals of well over 100 in each of the past three seasons. The sensational left-hander is poised for a massive rookie campaign and should be among the second or third tier of fantasy starters on mixed league draft boards. He had a brilliant 12.7 K/9 in close to 500 career innings on the farm.
