Matt Moore was charged with his fourth loss Thursday after surrendering three runs in six innings against the Red Sox. He struck out eight and walked one. Moore gave up two home runs, including a solo-shot to Cody Ross in the third inning, and threw 67 of his 106 pitches for strikes. The Rays' four-game winning streak has officially come to an end. Matt Moore's early season struggles continued against the Orioles on Saturday, giving up four runs (two earned) on four hits over 4 1/3 innings of work. Moore struck out six in the game, but also walked four and needed 103 pitches without getting out of the fifth inning. While his stuff is terrific and he has all the potential in the world, he really needs to work on his command and consistency. He'll strive to improve on both when he takes on Red Sox at home on Thursday.

Matt Moore got shelled in Sunday's loss to the A's, allowing eight runs on seven hits and three walks in just 4 2/3 innings of work. So much for today being a good matchup for Tampa's inconsistent young lefty. The runs were the most he's allowed in six starts, and ballooned his 4.20 ERA to 5.71 to accompany a 1.64 WHIP and 28/18 K/BB ratio. There's no question Moore boasts some of the best raw stuff in the game, it's just going to take him longer to harness it than initially thought. He's best left benched in 10-12 team mixed leagues for the time being. He'll get the Orioles in Baltimore next weekend.

Matt Moore struggled with his control again on Friday, allowing three runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings of work as part of a no-decision against the Twins. Moore struck out just two and walked three batters in the game. He needed 106 pitches to get through his night, throwing only 60 of them for strikes. Moore was widely hyped coming into this season, and hasn't quite lived up to expectations thus far. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction though, and he builds on this effort when he takes on the Angels next week.

Matt Moore yielded two runs in 6 2/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Tigers. Moore hurt himself with some wildness today, walking five (one intentionally) and throwing a wild pitch. Still, it was a nice outing against a top offense. The bullpen went on to allow three runs in 1 1/3 innings after he left.

Matt Moore limited the Pirates to a run and three hits over six innings on Friday. Casey McGehee homered off him, but the Pirates sure didn't do much else. Moore ended up with three strikeouts and eight outs on the ground. He'll have one more tuneup next week prior to his season debut.

Mike Moore came out of the pen to pitch 1 2/3 scoreless innings in his spring debut Tuesday. Moore, who missed some time with an abdominal injury, struck out three and walked one before his pitch count got him pulled. Though he's off to a late start, he's still expected to be the Rays' fourth starter.

Matt Moore (abdomen) is scheduled to make his Grapefruit League debut on Tuesday. Moore has been taking it easy in Rays camp since experiencing mild abdominal discomfort during a late-February fielding drill. But he threw live batting practice Thursday and will do so again on Saturday. If everything continues to run smoothly from here, the talented 22-year-old left-hander should be prepped and fully healthy for the start of the regular season. He carries fantasy ace potential.

Matt Moore (abdomen) threw live batting practice Thursday in Rays' camp. The young left-hander is about a week behind the other pitchers in camp due to mild abdominal discomfort, but he looks game-ready. His Grapefruit League debut could come as soon as next Tuesday, which gives him plenty of time to get ready for the start of the season.
