Matt Moore was wild on Tuesday, walking six batters in just five innings of work, but he held the Yankees scoreless for his 16th win in the Rays' 7-0 victory.
The start is a perfect picture of Moore, who has now walked 73 batters in 145 innings but owns a 16-4 record and 3.23 ERA in the same span. Moore was in trouble all night but managed to escape without harm, needing 107 pitches to get through five scoreless innings. Moore is on track to pitch against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Sunday, but that is subject to change depending on how the Wild Card race plays out. Check back in on Moore before Sunday's start for a clearer picture on the young lefty's schedule.

Matt Moore lost just the fourth time this season after allowing six runs -- five earned -- in four innings Thursday against the Rangers.
It was Moore's first loss in 11 starts since June 14. He gave up three homers for the first time in his career, all of them coming in the third inning tonight. The Rays will have to hope it was a fluke outing and that he bounces back against the Yankees next week.

Matt Moore pitched well in a no-decision against the Mariners on Sunday, surrendering just one run on five hits over his 6 1/3 frames.
Moore struck out three and issued three free passes in the game. The only damage against him came on a solo homer off the bat of Kendrys Morales in the second inning. The 24-year-old southpaw will carry an excellent 15-3 record and 3.18 ERA into Saturday's matchup with the Twins in Minnesota.

In his return from the disabled list, Matt Moore tossed 5 1/3 shutout innings in a victory against the Angels.
He struck out six, walked four and scattered four hits. Moore missed over a month due to elbow soreness, but he displayed only faint hints of rust. He hadn't walked four batters in a game since June 25, for instance, and Tampa Bay needs Moore to be more efficient than using 94 pitches to record 16 outs. It's not easy to nitpick a 24-year-old lefty who is 15-3 with a 3.27 ERA.

Matt Moore (elbow) is expected to be activated from the disabled list to start against the Angels in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old southpaw was in the midst of a stellar season before his elbow issues persisted, posting a 14-3 record, 3.41 ERA and 115/56 K/BB ratio over 121 1/3 innings. Fantasy owners may want to give him one start to shake off the rust before re-inserting him into lineups, though those with weekly lineups are unlikely to have that luxury.
