Holliday (leg) is back in the lineup Wednesday, batting third and playing left field against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder exited Monday's game with leg cramps that ultimately sidelined him from Tuesday's tilt. However, the added time off proved to be enough for Holliday to get back into the lineup for Wednesday's contest. He'll be facing Arizona southpaw Patrick Corbin in his return to the lineup.

Holliday (leg) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Holliday left Monday's game with cramping in his leg, and it turns out the setback will cost him at least one more start. It's not clear how much longer Holliday will remain sidelined, but Jeremy Hazelbaker will likely be the primary fill-in until he does.

Holliday left Monday's game against Arizona with a right leg cramp and is listed as day-to-day, Jennifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Holliday had an RBI triple in his first at-bat but grounded out in the third inning and quickly went to locker room. Jeremy Hazelbaker took his place in left field. The 36-year-old is an important bat in the St. Louis lineup so hopefully it's nothing too serious.

Holliday is out of the lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Holliday will get a day of rest in favor of Jeremy Hazelbaker starting in left field. Holliday has hit a bit of a slump lately, getting just one hit in his last 17 at-bats. Hazelbaker will face right-hander Mike Leake.

Holliday went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in the victory over the Cubs on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Although the 36-year-old has a hit in three straight games and has hit safely in eight of his last nine start, he owns just a .229 average through 48 at-bats. The good news, though, is he does have three homers. In limited action last season, Holliday hit just four bombs. Last year was the first time since 2005 that Holliday didn't hit at least 20 homers in a single season.

Holliday is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Holliday tallied three extra-base hits over his last two contests, but the veteran will get a day off Sunday with the Cardinals and Reds playing an early afternoon game. With Holliday opening on the bench, both Brandon Moss and Matt Adams will start for the Cardinals on Sunday.

Holliday went 2-for-2 with a pair of homers, four RBI and a walk Friday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Holliday's first blast of the year got the Cardinals out to a three-run lead in the first inning that they'd never relinquish. For good measure, he tacked on a solo blast in the six inning to help put the game out of reach. Although he's only collected four hits over his last four contests, each of those have gone for extra bases, indicating the slugger might be heating up.

Holliday is not in the lineup Sunday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Holliday had started the first five games of the season for the Cardinals, finding himself at first base on Opening Day and occupying left field in every game since then. The veteran will get a regular maintenance day Sunday, however, despite the fact that he is 5-for-14 in his career against opposing starter Jeff Locke. In Holliday's stead, Brandon Moss will get the nod in left field while Matt Adams takes over at first base.

Holliday will start at first base and bat third in the Cardinals' lineup during Sunday's Opening Day tilt with the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
A career outfielder, Holliday has been making occasional starts at first base throughout the spring, but it's moderately surprising he'll play the position on Opening Day. Perhaps manager Mike Matheny plans on taking a platoon approach to first base, which could mean that the right-handed hitting Holliday could end up making the starts at the position when left-handers like the Pirates' Francisco Liriano are on the mound. Matt Adams or Brandon Moss should be in line to handle the large end of any platoon.

Holliday will be getting work in at first base this spring and could see some time there during the season, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Currently Matt Adams and Brandon Moss are the two most likely to see the bulk of at-bats at first base this season, but it's possible that both Holiday and Stephen Piscotty could see time there as well. In terms of fantasy value positional flexibility is never a bad thing.
