Holliday exited Thursday's game after being hit by a pitch on the wrist, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeremy Hazelbaker came on to pinch run for Holliday after he was plunked on the wrist by a Mike Montgomery offering in the 10th inning of Thursday's contest. A further update on Holliday's status figures to be made available after the game.

Holliday homered and scored twice in a 2-for-4 game Tuesday against Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
Holliday hit just three home runs and slugged just .350 in July, and Tuesday's marked his first home run in eight games in August. He mashed 15 home runs in the first three months of the season, which made 2015's four home runs in 74 games seem like an aberration, but the 36-year-old is starting to look past his prime once again. His .769 OPS would be the first time in his career in which he failed to post at least an .800 mark.

Holliday is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Holliday will take a seat for a regular day off after getting five straight starts in left and going 4-for-19 at the plate with five strikeouts over that span. Kolten Wong will take over for him in the outfield for the afternoon contest.

Holliday is out of the lineup Saturday against the Dodgers, FOX Sports Midwest's Jim Hayes reports.
EDGE Analysis
He logged seven at-bats in Friday's extra-innings game, which came one day after he was hit by a pitch on the nose, so it makes sense that the Cardinals are giving their veteran outfielder the day off Saturday. Jeremy Hazelbaker will start in left field and hit sixth against the Dodgers.

Holliday is back in the Cardinals starting lineup on Friday, a night after taking a pitch off of his nose.
EDGE Analysis
Holliday was cleared of a fracture on Thursday night, but it was unsure if he would be in the Cardinals lineup on Friday against the Dodgers. Holliday will hit fourth and face Dodgers right-hander Brandon McCarthy. In eight career at-bats against McCarthy, Holliday has no hits and no strikeouts.

Holliday has been diagnosed with a facial abrasion in his nose/upper lip area after being hit by a pitch during Thursday's game.
EDGE Analysis
A fastball clocked in the mid-90s hit Holliday in the face during the sixth inning, resulting in a bloody nose and an early exit for the seven-time All-Star. Fortunately, Holliday was cleared of a fracture and is considered merely day-to-day ahead of Friday's series opener against Brandon McCarthy and the Dodgers.

Holliday left Thursday's game after being hit in the face by a 95 mph fastball, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
He had a bloody nose as a result of the plunking (courtesy of Andrew Cashner) and was promptly lifted for a pinch runner. Holliday, who went 0-for-2 prior to exiting the game, is uncertain for the start of the Dodgers series.

Holliday hit his 17th homer of the season Wednesday while batting cleanup for the Cardinals in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
While hitting just .245, Holliday's power continues to play well in the middle of the Cardinals lineup. Although the .245 batting average would be the worst of Holliday's career, he's on pace to top 30 home runs for what would be the first time since 2007 when he played in Colorado. He's also on pace to top 100 RBI for the first time since 2012. The Cardinals are second in the NL in on-base percentage, so Holliday should continue to see plenty of opportunities to use his power to drive in runs in his age-36 season.

Holliday is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran started the first game Wednesday, and it's not surprising the Cardinals will give him the night game off, especially given their outfield depth. Jeremy Hazelbaker will get the start in left field and hit sixth.

Holliday went 3-for-4 with a double and a solo homer Sunday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Holliday got the Cards on the board in the second inning with his 16th blast of the year, but they'd eventually go on to lose the contest. He's struggled this month, as he's only collected eight hits in 39 at-bats, and he's slashing .244/.318/.462 on the season.
