Mark Teixeira is batting just .157/.279/.353 through 61 plate appearances since coming off the disabled list. Teixeira smacked three home runs in his first seven games after making his 2013 debut on May 31, but is a painful 3-for-29 (.103) since. He's sporting a .229 on-base percentage over his past seven games. It's a supremely small sample size, of course, but it might not be the worst idea to sit Teixeira in daily leagues until he starts to heat back up. Now 33, Teixeira's .807 OPS last season was the worst of his 10-year career.

Mark Teixeira singled and smacked a three-run homer in Tuesday's win over the Indians. Teixeira unsurprisingly looked rusty in his first three games back from the DL, picking up just one single while striking out seven times in nine at-bats. But after a lining a grand slam from the left side of the plate Monday, he contributed a towering three-run blast a day later. He's no safe bet to remain healthy, but Teixeira obviously is ready to contribute now.

Mark Teixeira hit his eighth career grand slam off Justin Masterson as the Yankees beat the Indians 7-4 on Monday. Teixeira was 1-for-9 with seven strikeouts in his first three games back from the disabled list, but he found some power tonight, taking Masterson over the wall in right for his 339th lifetime homer. He's a career .369 hitter in 122 at-bats with the bases loaded, compared to .279 overall.

Mark Teixeira went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Friday in his return from the disabled list. Teixeira walked in his first plate appearance and then had a ground out and a pair of swinging strikeouts. There's no telling whether his wrist will hold up for the entire season, but he should be active in all fantasy leagues as long as he's in the lineup.

Yankees activated 1B Mark Teixeira from the 60-day disabled list. He's hitting fourth and playing first base Friday in what will be his season debut. Teixeira has been out since early March, when he partially tore the tendon sheath in his right wrist while taking batting practice before a World Baseball Classic game. There's no guarantee that the wrist will hold up all season, but he should be in fantasy lineups when healthy. The Yankees also got Kevin Youkilis back Friday.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) went 0-for-2 with a walk Wednesday in his first rehab game with Double-A Trenton. Teixeira also played seven innings at first base. He's expected to play in another rehab game on Thursday and could be activated for this weekend's series against the Red Sox. Lyle Overbay has filled in admirably at first base, but will move into a backup role.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) expects to play rehab games with Double-A Trenton next Wednesday and Thursday. Teixeira has participated in simulated games this week and will test himself in extended spring training on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. He'll be reevaluated after his two rehab games with Trenton, but there's a chance that he could be activated from the disabled list late next week if all goes well. Teixeira has been sidelined since early March with a torn tendon sheath in his wrist.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) could begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Trenton. Teixeira has participated in simulated games this week without incident and took batting practice Thursday in Tampa. The 33-year-old was originally aiming to return from the disabled by May 31, but he may need a few extra days to shake the rust. Still, he's making fine progress.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) went 1-for-2 with a walk Monday in his first extended spring training game. Teixeira reported feeling "good" on his personal Twitter feed afterward. The first baseman is currently aiming to be activated from the disabled list by May 31, but the Yankees are at the top of the American League East standings and could decide to play it safe by letting his rehab linger into early June. Teixeira is on his way back from a torn tendon sheath.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) is aiming to return from the disabled list on May 30 or 31. "It's great -- I couldn't be happier with my rehab," Teixeira said. "I'm looking at the end of May, sometime around the 30th or 31st maybe, to get back out there playing with the Yankees. I'm feeling great." Teixeira has been taking batting practice in the cages but still needs to take live BP on the field. "I would say the next step would be some live BP; we're not there yet," manager Joe Girardi said. "Then maybe some sim games, hopefully, then some rehab games. That's the progression, but we're still in the BP phase."
