Cessa (4-2) allowed three runs on six hits while striking out one over five innings in a losing effort against Boston.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't a disastrous outing, but it's not one that will generate much excitement from a fantasy perspective. His strikeout rate still remains well below six per nine innings, and he has a proclivity for giving up the long ball despite his 4.44 ERA and 1.12 WHIP.

Cessa (4-1) allowed four runs on five hits, including three home runs, over 5.2 innings in Sunday's loss to the Rays. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees provided Cessa with little run support Sunday, so his inability to keep the ball in the park proved costly. He continues to show decent command of the strike zone, posting a 20:5 K:BB in 29 innings over five starts, but his 2.5 HR/9 is fairly brutal. Don't expect much improvement in his next start Friday in Boston.

Cessa allowed two runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 5.1 innings in Tuesday's no-decision against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Cessa still hasn't pitched more than six innings in a game this season, but has a tidy 4-0 record through 12 appearances and four starts nonetheless. The rookie's lack of strikeouts (5.57K/9) makes it tough for him to provide value unless he's nearly perfect. He has a solid chance to stay unbeaten against the light-hitting Rays in his next outing Sunday.

Cessa gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk over six innings in Wednesday's no-decision against the Royals. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie got tagged for homers in the first and third innings, accounting for much of the damage. He's had quite a problem with the long ball early in his MLB career, having allowed a whopping nine in just 36.2 innings -- that's a starter's full-season pace for 50 homers by the opposition. Cessa may try to lure you in with his solid 1.09 WHIP (thanks to a strong 2.21 BB/9), but his pitch-to-contact ways leave the 24-year-old with questionable fantasy upside at best.

Cessa (4-0) gave up three earned runs on five hits and a walk over six innings in Friday's 14-4 victory over the Orioles. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie continues to improve with each successive trip to the mound, with Friday's outing being the most impressive. Cessa fired 66 of his 99 pitches for strikes and notched an impressive 16 swinging strikes overall. He consistently got ahead in the count as well, notching first-pitch strikes on 17 of the 23 hitters he faced. Manny Machado was the only spoilsport, touching him up for all three runs he gave up on the strength of a pair of homers. The 24-year-old will look to continue building momentum when he takes on the Royals next Wednesday.

Cessa threw six shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out five in Saturday's win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Cessa was very economical and likely could've gone further if it wasn't his first big league start of the season, as he needed just 85 pitches and departed with a 5-0 lead. The 24-year-old pitched well enough to earn himself at least one more turn through the rotation, and will look to keep it going Friday against the Orioles.

Cessa will join the rotation in place of the recently demoted Luis Severino, LoHud.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear at the moment what day he'll get the start (though Severino was in line to make his next start Saturday against the Angels), but when he does, it will be Cessa's first as a major leaguer. The 24-year-old has worked to a 5.30 ERA with a suspect 11:6 K:BB in eight relief appearances but has been much better in the minors to the tune of a 3.03 ERA in 15 appearances (14 starts) this year with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. At this point it remains to be seen if Cessa will keep his spot in the rotation more than one time through, but it may depend on how he performs when given the opportunity.

Cessa was recalled by the Yankees on Thursday, prior to their game against the Red Sox, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cessa has been one of the Yankees relievers that has bounced up and down between New York and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre throughout the year. His most recent time with the Yankees was in early July, and he's posted a 3.95 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP over the course of 13.2 relief innings in the majors this season.

Cessa was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees swapped out a righty for a lefty in the bullpen Tuesday by sending Cessa down to Triple-A and recalling southpaw Chasen Shreve. Cessa made three appearances with the Yankees during his most recent stint, allowing four earned runs across 6.2 innings of work. He'll head back down to Triple-A to work out of the bullpen but he could be back in the big leagues later in the season.

Cessa was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees demoted Nick Goody to Triple-A in a corresponding move, allowing Cessa to rejoin the big club following a nearly three-week stint in the minors. Cessa, who has made three appearances with the Yankees on the season, is expected to be a low man in the bullpen pecking order and won't see many high-leverage situations with the spectacular trio of Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller and Dellin Betances around.
