Cessa was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

The Yankees swapped out a righty for a lefty in the bullpen Tuesday by sending Cessa down to Triple-A and recalling southpaw Chasen Shreve. Cessa made three appearances with the Yankees during his most recent stint, allowing four earned runs across 6.2 innings of work. He'll head back down to Triple-A to work out of the bullpen but he could be back in the big leagues later in the season.
