Giolito gave up one run on five hits and two walks while striking out 11 over six innings Monday for Triple-A Charlotte.
EDGE Analysis
He fell one strikeout short of tying a career best, and his 11 strikeouts were three more than his previous season high of eight back on April 19. Giolito is starting to get on a roll at Triple-A, boasting a 2.57 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 26:9 K:BB over 28 innings in his last five starts. Prior to Monday's start, he had not been missing enough bats to inspire confidence that he could hold his own against major-league hitters, but if he continues to have success, he should get his chance in the big-league rotation sooner than later.

Giolito (2-5) did not allow a hit and walked three in seven innings Thursday for Triple-A Charlotte.
EDGE Analysis
This outing relieves a bit of pressure from Giolito who's made just two quality starts out of nine this season. The 6-foot-6 right-hander, who is the team's fourth-ranked prospect according to RotoWire, had been knocked around this season, having entered Thursday with a 6.41 ERA through eight starts. With some cracks beginning to show in the parent club's rotation, Giolito would be considered as a fill-in starter if he were performing better.

Giolito (0-5) allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and four walks for Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, JJ Stankevitz of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito, who has yet to pitch six innings in any of his six starts, has walked 18 batters and sports a 6.75 over 28.1 innings. The right-hander's been working with Knights pitching coach Steve McCatty, trying to repeat his mechanics and release point in an effort to better command his fastball. Until then, if the White Sox are considering calling up a starter from Charlotte, they'll go with Carson Fulmer (2.88 ERA) or Reynaldo Lopez (3.94 ERA).

Giolito, 22, has a 6.43 ERA and 16:9 K:BB through 14 innings for Triple-A Charlotte.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito was a surprise inclusion in the deal for Adam Eaton, but perhaps the Nationals knew something that the rest of us did not. Giolito had a poor spring and has been unable to turn it around thus far. Walks continue to plague him, and he's already given up three home runs in three starts this season. The strikeouts are still there, but Giolito still has plenty of kinks to work out before he can return to the big leagues.

Giolito was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito's stock is down and he didn't do anything to change that narrative this spring. He posted a 5.59 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and six strikeouts in 9.2 innings, but more importantly, he was sitting at just 90 mph in a recent start and was struggling with his command -- the two main issues that plagued him last season. It's possible that he was dealing with a case of dead arm and he will be able to build up strength during the season, but it's also possible that the electric stuff that once had him positioned as the top pitching prospect in the game is never coming back. The White Sox can gain an extra year of control by holding Giolito down until May 24, so that seems quite likely.

Giolito allowed four runs on four hits and two walks in two-thirds of an inning in Tuesday's game against Seattle, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito got off on the wrong foot when an 0-2 fastball to the leadoff hitter caught too much of the plate, resulting in a leadoff single. It all kind of snowballed from there until manager Rick Renteria pulled him after just 30 pitches, well shy of his allotted pitch count -- he finished his work in the bullpen after getting yanked. The right-hander was certainly humbled by the performance and will get at least three more starts to fix a flat fastball and throw curveballs for strikes.

Giolito gave up some hard contact and consistently pitched from behind in the count, but allowed just one run over four innings in Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito credited the defense around him, particularly catcher Kevan Smith, who blocked several pitches that landed in the dirt. It was the second shaky outing in three spring starts for the White Sox's highest-rated pitching prospect, but the good news is the organization is preaching patience with Giolito. The right-hander, who had a rough introduction to the majors while with Washington in 2016, will be given ample opportunity to get himself straight at Triple-A Charlotte to start 2017.

Giolito allowed one hit and struck out three over three scoreless innings in Saturday's game against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito was much improved over his first spring outing, noting the improved velocity in his fastball and being more comfortable with more reps.

Giolito took the mound for the first time in a White Sox uniform Monday, allowing one earned run and three hits while striking out two in two innings of work.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito's first start of the spring had some bright moments, but was fairly shaky as a whole. The 22-year-old began his outing by giving up hard-hit singles to Kyle Schwarber and Kris Bryant, and ended up allowing a long home run to Addison Russell an inning later. He'll look to improve upon Monday's start going forward as he continues to get settled in at big league camp.

Giolito expressed frustration at being yanked around last season when he was up and down with the Nationals, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports. "The time in the big leagues was definitely fun. But going up and down a lot can be like a grind. Getting on the plane, doing this, you're pitching the next day. You have to be able to try and stay level headed and focus on the next day or task at hand. But when you're moving around a lot it can be difficult," said the pitcher.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito, who posted a 6.75 ERA and walked 12 batters in 21.1 innings while up with Washington last year, felt part of his struggles were the result of him being called up to Washington on five separate occasions. He feels his new organization, which isn't expected to be involved in the heat of a pennant race, will allow a young pitcher to settle in. Giolito is likely to start the season at Triple-A Charlotte, but once he's promoted to Chicago, he's expected to remain there regardless of performance results.
