Giolito (9-2) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing four hits and a walk over eight scoreless innings in a 5-0 victory over the Orioles. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Baltimore didn't get a runner past second base as Giolito racked up 32 called or swinging strikes among his 104 pitches (69 total strikes). The right-hander has gone 3-0 with four quality starts in his last six trips to the mound, a stretch in which he's compiled a 2.39 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 27:14 K:BB over 37.2 innings. Giolito will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Pirates.

Giolito allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Yankees on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito left the game in line for the loss, but the Red Sox were able to tie it up in the sixth inning before rallying for the win. This was the third time in six starts Giolito has fallen short of the five-inning mark. He's allowed 15 runs over 33.2 innings with a 21:14 K:BB in that span. That's not terrible, but the inconsistency is frustrating -- he's allowed just one run in three of those outings. He's now at a 3.72 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 91:37 K:BB through 111.1 innings over 20 starts this season. Giolito will look to rebound in his next start, tentatively projected to be a favorable road matchup in Baltimore.

Giolito didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 2-1 win over the Marlins, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
After issuing a season-worst six free passes in his last outing Aug. 9, Giolito regained his control and tossed 63 of 92 pitches for strikes en route to his 12th quality start of the season, and his third in his last four trips to the mound. The right-hander has turned his season around after a rough beginning to his Boston tenure -- he held a 6.42 ERA on June 4, but in 12 starts since then he's delivered a 2.34 ERA, 1.07 WHIPP and 60:23 K:BB over 73 innings while going 7-1. Giolito will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Yankee Stadium.

Giolito allowed four runs on five hits and six walks while striking out one over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito hasn't had control problems this year, but he struggled to find the strike zone Saturday, landing just 55 of 97 pitches for strikes. The six walks were double his previous season high, but he's now allowed four or more runs in three of his last five starts. Giolito has a reasonable 3.77 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 82:33 K:BB through 100.1 innings over 18 starts this year, and his recent shaky performance can be chalked up to a tough run of opponents. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Marlins.

Giolito (8-2) earned the win Sunday over the Astros, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over eight innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
It was an excellent performance from Giolito, who went a season-high eight innings, with Houston's lone run coming on Carlos Correa's homer in the fourth. After a rocky start to his Red Sox tenure, Giolito has turned into one of Boston's more reliable starters, posting a 2.03 ERA over his last 10 outings (62 innings). Overall, the right-hander sports a 3.57 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP and 81:27 K:BB through 17 starts (95.2 innings) this season. Giolito is currently scheduled to face the Padres on the road his next time out.

Giolito (7-2) allowed a run on five hits and two walks over six innings Tuesday, striking out five and earning a win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito rolled through four shutout frames before Minnesota scratched across a run in the fifth inning. He delivered a strong bounce-back outing after coughing up a combined nine runs over 9.1 innings in his previous two outings. He fired 61 of 101 pitches for strikes and forced 13 whiffs, including nine with his changeup. Giolito now owns a 3.80 ERA over 87.2 innings this season, but it's been a very up-and-down year; he's given up two or fewer earned runs in 10 of his 16 starts, but he's been tagged with five or more runs in four outings. Giolito is projected to face the Royals at home next week.

Giolito didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing five runs on six hits and one walk in four innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
That's now consecutive starts with at least four runs allowed by Giolito, who had been riding a six-game quality start streak before this recent downturn. The four innings and two punchouts were both the veteran right-hander's fewest since his June 4 outing versus the Angels. Giolito still holds a quality 3.97 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 72:24 K:BB over 81.2 frames, and he'll try to right the ship in Minnesota against the Twins the next time he takes the mound.

Giolito (6-2) took the loss in Friday's 4-1 defeat against the Cubs, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks across 5.1 innings while recording six strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito ran into trouble immediately Friday, issuing back-to-back walks and serving up a three-run homer to Seiya Suzuki before recording his first out. The right-hander recovered well from the rocky start, keeping the Cubs quiet over the next four innings before exiting in the sixth after surrendering a double to Ian Happ. Despite the tough outing, the 31-year-old has now registered at least five strikeouts in six straight starts and owns a 1.66 ERA with a 39:9 K:BB across 38 innings during that stretch. Giolito is slated to make his next start July 23 against the Phillies.

Giolito (6-1) picked up the win Wednesday against Colorado, allowing four hits and no walks with six strikeouts over six scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito took advantage of a lackluster Rockies lineup, posting his fourth scoreless outing in his last five starts. During that stretch, he owns a 5-0 record and a sparkling 0.70 ERA across 38.2 innings. The streak lowered his ERA from 6.42 to 3.36, where it'll stand entering the All-Star break.

Giolito (5-1) earned the win against the Nationals on Friday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks with seven strikeouts over 7.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito allowed a run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning but was otherwise dominant, throwing 75 strikes on a season-high 108 pitches. It was the 30-year-old's deepest outing of the season, and he's now yielded just three total earned runs across five straight quality starts dating back to June 10. He'll take a 3.66 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 58:21 K:BB across 66.1 innings into a favorable matchup with the Rockies next week.
