Logan Morrison (knee) is shooting to begin a rehab assignment on May 10. Morrison, who is coming off of surgery to repair a torn patella tendon, still isn't running the bases, but it sounds like that should be just around the corner. He would figure to need most, if not all, of the allotted 20 days for a rehab assignment, so we're still looking at a likely return in early June for the first baseman.

Marlins placed 1B Logan Morrison on the 60-day disabled list with a right knee injury. LoMo's recovery from last September's surgery to repair a torn patella tendon has gone slowly, and he'll spend the first couple months on the DL while Casey Kotchman fills in at first base. The 25-year-old has been limited to anti-gravity treadmill running.

Logan Morrison (knee) is scheduled to begin running on the field next week. Morrison underwent surgery in September to repair a torn patella tendon in his right knee and has been limited to anti-gravity treadmill running so far. He is aiming to join the Marlins at some point in mid-April.

Logan Morrison (knee) will start running on a treadmill Thursday. Morrison is currently working his way back from September surgery to repair a torn patella tendon in his right knee. The exact timetable for his return depends on how his knee responds in the coming weeks, but he's aiming for around mid-April.

Logan Morrison (knee) has been cleared to begin running on a treadmill. The 25-year-old is five months removed from surgery to repair a torn patella tendon. LoMo's agent told Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald that his client should be ready to join the Marlins' starting lineup around April 15.

Logan Morrison hopes to be cleared to begin jogging after having his surgically-repaired right knee examined in Colorado on Tuesday. It would be a step in the right direction, but Morrison's status for Opening Day remains in question. The Marlins signed Casey Kotchman to a minor league deal Friday in order to give them some protection at first base.

Logan Morrison (knee) still hasn't been cleared to run and said he "won't know for awhile" if he'll be ready for Opening Day. Morrison is five months removed from his second knee surgery in as many offseasons, and remains without a timetable to return. He isn't ready for spring training, and his availability for the start of the season is in question. With Morrison sidelined, the Marlins will give Joe Mahoney and Greg Dobbs an extended look at first base.

Logan Morrison (knee) is not expected to be running at full strength at the start of camp. Morrison is currently working his way back from his second knee surgery in as many offseasons. He may not be cleared to ramp up his rehab until the end of the month, so his readiness for the start of the season is an open question. "I think it's premature at this point to say exactly what that timetable is until he gets on the field," said Marlins president Larry Beinfest. Joe Mahoney is expected to get a look at first base during Morrison's absence while Greg Dobbs and Austin Kearns will also get some work there.

According to Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Logan Morrison (knee) has yet to be cleared for his offseason training program. Morrison was limited to just 93 games in 2012 and is coming off his second knee surgery in as many offseasons. He won't be ready for the start of spring training in February, and his availability for Opening Day is in question. The Marlins don't have any obvious in-house candidates to replace Morrison should he miss extended time into the season. Greg Dobbs would likely be forced into an expanded role at first base.

Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post reports that the Marlins are shopping Logan Morrison. Morrison isn't arbitration-eligible yet, so there isn't much sense of urgency to move him from a salary perspective, but that won't stop the Marlins from listening to offers. The 25-year-old batted just .230 with 11 home runs, 36 RBI and a .707 OPS in 93 games this season prior to undergoing knee surgery in September. If Morrison sticks around, he will likely open next season as the starting first baseman.
