Hendricks (0-3) allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits with two strikeouts and a walk across five innings in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old looked sharper Saturday, but he still hasn't gone deep in a game, and unearned runs are hurting him. Through three starts, Hendricks has yielded six unearned runs. He hasn't received a lot of run support either. Hendricks is 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA, 2.18 WHIP and 10 strikeouts in 13.1 innings. His next scheduled start is against the Diamondbacks at home on Friday.

Hendricks (0-2) gave up four runs on eight hits with one walk while striking out four through four innings in a loss to the Brewers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks allowed nine batters to reach base in only four innings of work and ultimately received credit for the loss against the Brewers. It's been a rough start to the season for Hendricks as he has a 6.48 ERA through two starts. At his best, Hendricks has tremendous ability to suppress home runs and walks, but the right-hander has now surrendered three home runs and four walks in only 8.1 innings of work. His next start will come Saturday against the Angels at Wrigley Field.

Hendricks (0-1) yielded seven runs (two earned) on 10 hits and three walks in 4.1 innings during Monday's 8-0 loss to Atlanta. He coughed up two home runs and struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Things got off to a rocky start with Ender Inciarte clubbing a leadoff homer off Hendricks, leading to a four-run first inning for Atlanta. The Cubs made six errors Monday, but Hendricks didn't exactly help his case by allowing 10 hits and three walks. His next outing will come in Milwaukee on Sunday, giving him another tough test.

Hendricks signed a four-year extension with the Cubs on Tuesday that includes a vesting option for a fifth season, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks will make a guaranteed $63 million from 2019 to 2023, including his previously-negotiated salary for this season, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. The extension keeps the 29-year-old in a hitter-friendly park for the next several years. He hasn't had trouble navigating Wrigley Field thus far in his five-year major-league career, as his home ERA of 2.74 easily outpaces his road mark of 3.41.

Hendricks is slated to be the Cubs' fourth starter to begin the season behind Jon Lester, Yu Darvish and Cole Hamels, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks has a career 3.07 ERA and 1.11 WHIP, but Chicago's rotation is stacked, so the righty will have to settle for being a top-tier fourth starter to begin the season. He should still be able to record good ratios and pick up plenty of wins backed by a strong offense in the Windy City.

Hendricks allowed three earned runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings in Thursday's Cactus League game against the Giants. He walked one and struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The big blow was a two-run home run by Brandon Belt in the first inning, but Hendricks pitched pretty well after that. The righty's 4.96 ERA this spring is disappointing, but he's posted a sub-4.00 ERA in each of his five MLB seasons, so he should be just fine when the regular season rolls around.

Hendricks struck out two and gave up one run over 3.1 innings in Saturday's Cactus League game against the Diamondbacks. He allowed five hits and two walks.
EDGE Analysis
The seven baserunners is a bit concerning, but this was still a step in the right direction for Hendricks, who came into the start with a 6.14 ERA through his first three appearances of the spring. The 29-year-old righty has been consistently productive the last few seasons, so he should put up good results as soon as the regular season rolls around.

Hendricks said using his curveball more often is a "point of emphasis" this spring, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks relied mostly on his fastball, sinker and changeup last season, mixing in the curveball 7.6 percent of the time. However, the righty wants to work with it more in Cactus League action, which could carry over to the regular season if he finds success. "Just being able to see it, see where I can use it in spots, working with more confidence," Hendricks said. The 29-year-old has been consistently strong for the Cubs the past four seasons and will look to keep things rolling in 2019.

Hendricks agreed to a one-year, $7.4 million contract with the Cubs on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Jon Heyman of FancredSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks will have at least one more season in Chicago as he is set for free agency in 2020. The 29-year-old has been one of the most reliable starting pitchers in baseball over the last five years with a 3.07 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 2.1 BB/9 in 132 starts. Hendricks' will once again be a key piece of the Cubs starting rotation in 2019.

Hendricks (14-11) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two over eight innings, picking up the win Friday against St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks was spotted an early 4-0 lead and didn't give up a run until the sixth inning. The 28-year-old secured a key victory for the Cubs, who are still looking to clinch the division title with two games to go in the regular season. Hendricks owns a 3.44 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 161 strikeouts through 199 innings heading into the postseason.
