Hendricks (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Saturday without issue, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Hendricks making it through Saturday's session just fine, there is still a chance he could return before the All-Star break, as manager Joe Maddon hinted at Thursday. The Cubs figure to evaluate all options with Cole Hamels (oblique) landing on the injured list and should announce Hendricks' next step soon.

Manager Joe Maddon said Hendricks (shoulder) "possibly" will return from the injured list before the All-Star break, which begins July 8, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks completed a 30-pitch bullpen Wednesday and felt no issues, per Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com, and he'll ramp up to 45 pitches in another bullpen session Saturday before the Cubs determine the next step in his rehab. The right-hander has been sidelined since June 15 with a shoulder impingement.

Hendricks (shoulder) threw lightly off a mound Monday, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is an encouraging step for Hendricks, who threw 15 pitches in what was his first mound session since landing on the injured list with a shoulder impingement. Per Wittenmyer, the right-hander is expected to progress to a full bullpen session later in the week. Hendricks is hoping to return sometime around the All-Star break.

Hendricks (shoulder) played catch on flat ground Friday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks landed on the injured list with a right shoulder impingement last weekend, but his return to throwing Friday is a good early sign for his recovery. With that said, the 29-year-old doesn't have a set throwing program going forward and the team will see how he feels Saturday before deciding on the next step.

Hendricks has a shoulder impingement which could keep him out until the All-Star break, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks was diagnosed with shoulder inflammation when he landed on the injured list Saturday, and he said at the time that he was expecting a brief absence. Tests evidently revealed a slightly more serious injury, but the issue was apparently caught early and may not keep him out for too long.

Hendricks doesn't think his shoulder injury is serious, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks was placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation Saturday. He didn't think the injury occured on any one pitch, but instead felt a growing discomfort over the last few days. He hopes to be back after a brief period of rest, though the Cubs should know more after further tests.

Hendricks was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with right shoulder inflammation, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury perhaps explains Hendricks' poor start against the Dodgers on Friday in which he lasted just 4.1 innings while allowing five runs. He'd cruised to a 1.99 ERA over his last eight starts prior to Friday, so it doesn't appear as though this is a problem he's been dealing with for a long time. It's not clear when the Cubs expect him to return. Rowan Wick was called up in a corresponding move.

Hendricks (7-5) pitched 4.1 innings, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks. He took the loss and struck out only one in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks had his shortest start since April 7, with his lowest strikeout total of the season. Hendricks has a 3.36 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 92.2 innings over 14 starts this season. The right-hander will look to bounce back in his next start, taking on the Mets on Thursday.

Hendricks (7-4) picked up the victory over the Cardinals on Sunday, allowing one run on eight hits in seven innings. He struck out three and did not walk a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks gave up a run-scoring double in the second inning but shut out the Cardinals for the remainder of his start to improve his career record against St. Louis to 7-2. Since dropping to 1-4 following an ugly loss to the Diamondbacks on April 26, Hendricks has won six of his last eight starts, compiling a 1.99 ERA and racking up 50 strikeouts in 58.2 innings over that span. He'll look to continue his string of success in a matchup against the Dodgers on Friday.

Hendricks (6-4) allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out 10 across seven innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks was solved only by Daniel Murphy, who accounted for all three of his earned runs in this start. Otherwise, Hendricks dominated Rockies' hitters, recording his second double-digit strikeout effort this season. He backed that up with both 21 swinging and called strikes, while also starting 18 of the 28 batters he faced with a strike. Hendricks has worked exceptionally deep into games across the past month, working seven or more frames in five of his last seven starts. He'll look to keep that going in his next outing, currently scheduled for Sunday against St. Louis.
