Hendricks (7-8) yielded two runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings Sunday, striking out five and taking the loss against San Diego.
EDGE Analysis
After four scoreless innings to start the afternoon, Fernando Tatis Jr. tagged Hendricks with an RBI single in the fifth before Francisco Mejia put the team ahead on a seventh-inning solo shot. It was another quality start for Hendricks, who simply didn't get much help from his offense. He'll carry a 3.41 ERA into Saturday's start in Milwaukee.

Hendricks allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings Monday, striking out five batters and taking the no-decision in the loss to Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
Over his last three starts, Hendricks had gone 0-3 without making it through five innings in any outing. Despite coughing up a pair of solo shots, the 29-year-old left the game with a 3-2 lead but the Cubs' bullpen blew the game and cost him his eighth victory. Hendricks will try for his first win since June 9 at home against the Padres on Sunday.

Hendricks (7-7) took the loss Sunday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on four hits over four innings. He walked two and struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
All of the damage against Hendricks came on a two-run home run by Eloy Jimenez in the fourth inning. The righty only threw 86 pitches in this one, but seeing as he recently missed some time with right shoulder inflammation, the Cubs weren't willing to push him in the last game before the All-Star break. Hendricks finishes the first half with a 3.49 ERA and 85:19 K:BB across 95.1 innings.

Hendricks (7-6) allowed two runs on four hits with one walk and four strikeouts across three innings while taking a loss against the Pirates on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander gave up runs in the first and third, and then a lengthy rain delay arrived. When play resumed, the Cubs went to their bullpen, which promptly allowed the Pirates to increase their lead. Despite the short outing because of the weather, Hendricks remained on the hook and suffered his second straight loss. He is 7-6 with a 3.45 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 79 strikeouts in 91.1 innings this year. Unless the Cubs decide to move things around in their rotation because Hendricks only threw 55 pitches Tuesday, he won't take the mound again until after the All-Star break.

Hendricks (shoulder) has been activated from the 10-day injured list and will start Tuesday's game against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Hendricks is listed as the starting pitcher for the second game of the series after missing time with right shoulder inflammation. The right-hander is putting together another solid season thus far, posting a 3.36 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with a 75:16 K:BB over 88.1 frames.

Hendricks (shoulder) is scheduled to rejoin the starting rotation Tuesday at Pittsburgh, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks completed a bullpen session Saturday with no issues, apparently clearing the way for his return from the injured list. The 29-year-old landed on the IL with right shoulder inflammation June 15 and could face a limited pitch count in his return, but he shouldn't have significant restrictions going forward given the relative briefness of his absence.

Hendricks (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Saturday without issue, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Hendricks making it through Saturday's session just fine, there is still a chance he could return before the All-Star break, as manager Joe Maddon hinted at Thursday. The Cubs figure to evaluate all options with Cole Hamels (oblique) landing on the injured list and should announce Hendricks' next step soon.

Manager Joe Maddon said Hendricks (shoulder) "possibly" will return from the injured list before the All-Star break, which begins July 8, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks completed a 30-pitch bullpen Wednesday and felt no issues, per Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com, and he'll ramp up to 45 pitches in another bullpen session Saturday before the Cubs determine the next step in his rehab. The right-hander has been sidelined since June 15 with a shoulder impingement.

Hendricks (shoulder) threw lightly off a mound Monday, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is an encouraging step for Hendricks, who threw 15 pitches in what was his first mound session since landing on the injured list with a shoulder impingement. Per Wittenmyer, the right-hander is expected to progress to a full bullpen session later in the week. Hendricks is hoping to return sometime around the All-Star break.

Hendricks (shoulder) played catch on flat ground Friday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hendricks landed on the injured list with a right shoulder impingement last weekend, but his return to throwing Friday is a good early sign for his recovery. With that said, the 29-year-old doesn't have a set throwing program going forward and the team will see how he feels Saturday before deciding on the next step.
