Kyle Gibson was tagged for five runs in five innings by the Giants on Friday.
Gibson struck out four, which, sadly enough, matches his season high. What was making him a solid starter anyway was that he had allowed just one homer in eight starts. But that was something of a fluke, and it caught up with him tonight, as he gave up two to the Giants. Gibson is just a spot starter in AL-only leagues right now.

Kyle Gibson picked up his fourth win of the season on Friday, firing seven innings of one-run ball against the Mariners.
Gibson allowed six hits and a pair of walks while striking out four. The only damage against him came on an RBI double off the bat of Robinson Cano in the fifth inning. While he's been good in flashes, he remains far too inconsistent to trust in most mixed leagues. He'll take on the Giants next in San Francisco on Friday.

Kyle Gibson was hammered in Saturday's loss to the Tigers, surrendering six runs on seven hits in just two innings of work.
Most underlying pitching metrics indicated that Gibson had been pitching above his head, and a correction came in a big way on Saturday. Miguel Cabrera's three-run blast highlighted the six-run uprising in the second inning. He'll look to get back on track when he carries a 4.74 ERA and 1.53 WHIP into Friday's start against the Mariners in Minnesota.

Kyle Gibson shut out the Indians for seven innings in a no-decision on Monday.
Gibson allowed just two hits tonight, but he also ended up with a 1/3 K/BB ratio and just 56 of his 100 pitches were strikes. For the season, he has a 16/17 K/BB ratio in 36 innings. That he has a 3.50 ERA anyway is a result of him not allowing a single home run, but while he is a groundball pitcher, that's still a fluke. He should only be owned in AL-only leagues right now.

Kyle Gibson was tagged for five runs in 6 2/3 innings by the Dodgers in Wednesday's loss.
Gibson held the Dodgers to two runs through six, but he gave up three hits in the seventh, scoring one run, and then watched as Michael Tonkin surrendered a two-run single after replacing him. All in all, it was a better outing than the ERA makes it sound. Still, he's fallen quickly after allowing a total of two runs in his first three starts; he's given up 12 in the last two. Only AL-only leaguers should have him active next week.

Tuesday's game between the Dodgers and Twins has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The game will be made up as part of a split-doubleheader on Thursday. Tuesday's scheduled starters, Kyle Gibson and Zack Greinke, will presumably be pushed back to Wednesday.

Kyle Gibson had an ugly line against the Rays on Tuesday, giving up seven runs on 10 hits over three-plus innings in a loss.
If it's any consolation, the outing wasn't as bad as it looked on paper -- of his 10 hits allowed, nine were singles. Gibson also walked two while striking out three. It was simply a start to forget for the 26-year-old. He'll need to shake it off, because it doesn't get any easier against a tough Tigers lineup on Sunday.

Kyle Gibson pitched four-hit ball for eight innings and combined with Anthony Swarzak on a shutout of the Blue Jays on Thursday.
It's a depleted Blue Jays lineup, but that's still quite an outing for the 26-year-old. He's already 3-0 with a 0.93 ERA this year after going 2-4 with a 6.53 ERA in 10 starts as a rookie last season. While he should remain a decent enough AL-only starter, we don't expect him to last as an asset in mixed leagues.

Kyle Gibson delivered a second consecutive strong outing on Friday, allowing just one run on five hits over 6 1/3 innings to defeat the Royals and improve to 2-0.
The once highly-touted prospect walked four and struck out three on the night. The only damage against him came on an RBI ground out off the bat of Billy Butler in the first inning. Gibson now owns a 1.59 ERA through his first two starts, but a troublesome 1.41 WHIP and 6/8 K/BB ratio through 11 1/3 innings. He could be worth a gamble for next week's home start against the Blue Jays, but don't assume that he's completely figured things out just yet.

La Velle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Kyle Gibson has won the fifth spot in the Twins' rotation.
The club had tipped their hand earlier Friday when they announced that Gibson would get another start next Tuesday. He beat out Samuel Deduno, Vance Worley and Scott Diamond for the job. Deduno will pitch in relief, while Worley has been placed on waivers. Diamond is out of options and it's not clear what the club's plan is for him. Gibson held a 5.63 ERA in 10 starts last season for the Twins, but he earned a gig this spring with a 2.70 mark over 13 1/3 innings.
