Gausman was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.
Gausman seemingly pitched well enough to remain in the rotation Sunday, tossing five innings of two-run ball. That won't be the case, however, as the Orioles will use his roster spot to recall right-handed reliever Oliver Drake. Should the need for another spot start arrive, Gausman would be one of the first names called.

Gausman was solid in his first start of the season Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over five innings, striking out one.
As per usual for Gausman he wasn't particularly efficient, needing 91 pitches (58 strikes) to get through five innings, and he ended up with a no-decision in a game the O's won in the ninth inning. It was a good enough performance to keep him in the rotation though, so look for him to take the mound again on Friday, at home against the Indians.

Gausman has been activated from the 15-day disabled list and will start Saturday against the Blue Jays.
Gausman draws a tough challenge in his first start of the season as he faces a red-hot Toronto offense. He'll be facing a predominantly right-handed batting order Saturday, but owners should still be cautious as this is his first major league start since last September.

Gausman (shoulder) will start Saturday's game against Toronto, Dan Connolly of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Gausman has been on the disabled list since early-May, but has progressed through baseball activities and is nearing a return to the Orioles. While Gausman's upside is high, it may be best for owners to be cautious in his first start back as he will be facing the hot-hitting Blue Jays.

Gausman (shoulder) is an option to start Saturday's game for the Orioles, the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina reports.
Gausman said the possibility of him starting Saturday against the Blue Jays had been mentioned to him, and if he indeed takes the ball he estimated that he could give the team 80-85 pitches. Once Gausman gets into the Orioles' rotation this year, he may not relinquish the spot, and he has the upside of a true frontline starter so he is worth a stash in most formats.

Gausman (shoulder) is scheduled to throw two innings in a rehab appearance with High-A Frederick on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
This is a bit odd, as Gausman pitched at least three innings in his first two rehab starts, working up to 61 pitches in his most recent outing. However, it seems the club may be shortening him up with an eye toward returning him to the major league bullpen in the near future. Mike Wright appears in line to get a run in the rotation spot vacated by Miguel Gonzalez (groin).

Gausman (shoulder) said he felt good following his start for Double-A Bowie and is waiting to hear about where he will make his next start, the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina reports.
With Miguel Gonzalez hitting the DL Gausman's chance to join the big league rotation could be approaching. Gausman has the upside to be the best starter in the Orioles' rotation when his turn comes.

Gausman (shoulder) will be limited to 65 pitches in a rehab start with Double-A Bowie on Thursday, and could rejoin the Orioles after that, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Gausman's first rehab start went well, and it appears he'll only require two before returning to the Orioles. Upon his return, the likely scenario includes Bud Norris being bumped to the bullpen and Gausman taking over the fifth spot in the Orioles' rotation. However, it remains to be seen whether that will indeed come to fruition, as expected, or not.

Gausman threw three shutout innings, allowing one hit with no walks and four strikeouts in his first minor league rehab appearance Saturday at High-A.
Gausman will head to Double-A and go four innings in his next outing, according to MASN Sports. He figures to get at least two more minor league appearances before being activated. Bud Norris returns to the rotation Sunday, and his spot in the rotation is the least secure as of now. Gausman figures to take that spot when he is healthy.

Gausman (shoulder) will make a three-inning start for High-A Frederick and could join the Orioles' rotation after one or two more such outings, the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina reports.
Manager Buck Showalter said Gausman could rejoin the Orioles after two rehab outings but it would more likely require a trio of minor league starts before the club would recall the young hurler. Gausman has better stuff than anyone currently in Baltimore's rotation, so it makes sense that the team would insert him into the mix once he works up to a solid pitch count threshold in the minor leagues. That said, the Orioles have done some puzzling things throughout Gausman's development, so there is no guarantee that he will be handled as expected going forward.
