Gausman tossed five innings versus the Red Sox on Friday night, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits while notching three strikeouts. Coming off of likely the best performance of his young career, which saw him put together seven scoreless frames versus the Yankees exactly one week ago, Gausman was not quite at the same level Friday night. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old hurler continues to log solid innings for the Orioles this month, as he now sports a 2.73 ERA and 8.2 K/9 across four starts.

Gausman tossed seven scoreless innings in the first game of Friday's day-night doubleheader versus the Yankees, allowing seven hits and two walks while piling up seven strikeouts. Gausman was brilliant Friday afternoon, putting together possibly the strongest effort of his young MLB career. The 23-year-old hurler has been impressive in recent weeks, posting a 2.97 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 8.4 K/9 across his past six turns in the Orioles' rotation. Gausman is slated to make his next start Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

Gausman struck out seven and walked four while giving up two runs on five hits over seven innings against the Rays on Saturday. He did not factor in the decision, however, as the Orioles scratched out the game-tying run in the eighth after his departure before eventually falling. In his next scheduled start, Gausman will face the Yankees as part of a doubleheader at Camden Yards on Friday.

Gausman suffered a loss Monday, going 7.1 innings while allowing five runs�four earned. The young righty has been a little rocky for the Orioles of late, failing to register a quality start in each of his last three outings. On the whole, Gausman has been productive for Baltimore this season, and will carry a 3.93 ERA into his next start against Tampa Bay.

Gausman was recalled from the Gulf Coast League Orioles on Monday, Rich Dubroff of CSN Baltimore reports. Gausman was optioned Wednesday to allow the Orioles the option to add an extra player to the roster while Gausman awaited his next turn in the rotation. His turn was due up today, and he was recalled, as expected, to make the start.

Gausman will start Monday against the Twins, CSNBaltimore.com reports. It was widely assumed that Gausman would return from the Gulf Coast League to make his next scheduled start Monday, but manager Buck Showalter confirmed as much prior to Saturday's game. Gausman has posted a 3.84 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 15 starts for the big club this season and it sounds like his spot is relatively safe, with Ubaldo Jimenez sticking in the bullpen for the time being.

Gausman was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk following Wednesday's game, Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports. Gausman is not expected to miss his next turn in the Orioles' rotation, but with him not scheduled to make his next start until Monday, the Orioles sent him down to open up a roster spot until rosters expand Sept. 1. Expect Gausman to be called up again that day.

Gausman allowed one earned run on two hits and four walks, striking out two over six innings Sunday against the Indians. Gausman's four free passes matched a season-high, and ultimately limited his longevity in this one, as he needed 91 pitches (51 strikes) to complete six frames. He was left in line to earn the victory, however, and improved to 7-4 on the season after winning his third start in his last four tries. The 23-year-old now owns a 3.70 ERA on the season, but he's given up a lot of base runners, and a 4.37 xFIP suggests that his ERA could be on the rise. He'll attempt to prove this notion wrong in his next scheduled start Saturday against the Cubs.

Gausman gave up eight hits and three runs Sunday versus St. Louis. He struck out six and walked two batters in the losing decision. Gausman was unable to register his third consecutive win. It was a struggle right from the start and he was never really able to settle down and find his groove. Gausman will try to get back on track in his next scheduled assignment, set for Saturday in Cleveland.

Gausman won for the second straight start, allowing three runs in six innings against the Nationals. The young righty has looked strong in his last three starts, allowing just seven runs in those 19.2 innings. Though his strikeout totals remain low, Gausman has managed to limit damage while in the game. He'll try for his third straight win this weekend against the Cardinals.
