Gausman threw 2.2 innings in a minor league game Thursday, MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles are known to send some of their pitchers to minor league camp from time to time, even when they are healthy. That seems to be the case for Gausman. He allowed two doubles and walked a batter in the game. Gausman should likely pitch exclusively in Grapefruit League games for the rest of the spring as the first cuts in camp come Friday. The club probably wanted to get a look at some younger guys before making the first round of cuts. Gausman actually might vault as high as the No. 3 starter by the end of spring depending on the condition of Chris Tillman and the effectiveness of Miguel Gonzalez.

Gausman threw two innings Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman faced a group of MLB regulars in the Rays' lineup and did not struggle at all. His fastball sat in the low-90s and topped out at 96 mph. That kind of velocity would actually be a tick below his performance over the last three seasons. The Orioles finally appear to set Gausman loose right out of the gate this spring.

Gausman underwent LASIK surgery three days after the season ended, and will no longer need prescription glasses in 2016, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
This probably won't directly improve anything other than the young pitcher's style, but there are reasons to be bullish on him heading into 2016. Much has been made about the Orioles mishandling the talented righty, but that won't be an option next year, as Gausman is basically a lock to be in the rotation all year. He averaged 95.2 mph on his fastball in 2015, and still has the overall repertoire to be at least a No. 3 starter.

Gausman tossed eight innings of one-run ball in a win over the Blue Jays in Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader. He allowed five hits and no walks while striking out 10.
EDGE Analysis
Taking full advantage of a Toronto lineup minus every one of its regulars -- the Blue Jays clinched the AL East with a win in Game 1 -- Gausman notched a career-high 10 strikeouts. His previous career high was eight. A solo homer allowed to Darwin Barney in the eighth inning was the lone blemish on Gausman's day. He should have the inside track at a full-time rotation spot next season.

Gausman allowed five runs on five hits, walking three and striking out five over five-plus innings of a 7-0 loss to Boston on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman (3-7, 4.49 ERA) was effective for five innings, but ran into trouble in the sixth, departing after putting three men on base without retiring a batter. Those three came around to score and it turned into a disappointing outing for the Orioles' young hurler. He maintains a very high ceiling, but he'll need to be more consistent to take the next step.

Gausman allowed four runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and one walk in Sunday's loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman was not as sharp as his last two starts (one run allowed in 11 innings). It seems Gausman is much more comfortable at home (2.38 ERA) than away (6.00 ERA).

Gausman will make his next start Sunday, Brittany Ghiroli of Orioles.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles added Tyler Wilson to their rotation Thursday, and he'll take the hill Friday in the second game of a four-game set against the division rival Rays. Wei-Yin Chen will start Saturday, and Gausman will be the starter Sunday when the series comes to a close.

Gausman (3-6) tossed six shutout innings Monday, giving up two hits and four walks while striking out seven in a 2-0 victory over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The win was Gausman's first since Aug. 1, though he's tossed four quality starts in that span. Gausman's stuff has been as advertised, though a disproportionate number of home runs allowed have led to sobering results for the 24-year-old. While Gausman has struggled at points this season, his four walks allowed Monday should be an anomaly; the right-hander has walked two batters or less in 13 of his 14 starts. Gausman will next take the mound Saturday against the Rays.

Gausman was saddled with a no-decision against the Yankees on Monday, surrendering six hits, one earned run and one walk in five-plus innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman turned in a much more respectable effort after getting shelled in his last start against the Rays, although the long ball continued to haunt him. The young right-hander gave up a sixth-inning solo shot to Alex Rodriguez, making it five consecutive starts in which he's given up at least one gopher ball, and seven of eight starts dating back to Aug. 1. Although he has certainly had solid stretches in 2015, Gausman's 1.55 HR/9 rate looms as a potential obstacle each time he takes the mound.

Gausman lasted only 2.1 innings against the Rays on Wednesday, giving up eight hits, two walks and four runs (three earned). He struck out one and escaped without a decision.
EDGE Analysis
Fortunately for Gausman, opposing starter Erasmo Ramirez was near-equally rough, and this game ended up going to extra innings. He gave up two more homers in this one, continuing what's been a huge problem with the long ball recently -- Gausman has surrendered seven homers in his last four starts. He's also seen his bat-missing ability dry up over his last two games, having fanned just four in nine innings. He'll have a tough test against the Yankees -- who homered twice off him back on July 22 -- when he and the Orioles head up to New York next week.
