Gausman (shoulder) is scheduled to throw two innings in a rehab appearance with High-A Frederick on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports. This is a bit odd, as Gausman pitched at least three innings in his first two rehab starts, working up to 61 pitches in his most recent outing. However, it seems the club may be shortening him up with an eye toward returning him to the major league bullpen in the near future. Mike Wright appears in line to get a run in the rotation spot vacated by Miguel Gonzalez (groin).

Gausman (shoulder) said he felt good following his start for Double-A Bowie and is waiting to hear about where he will make his next start, the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina reports. With Miguel Gonzalez hitting the DL Gausman's chance to join the big league rotation could be approaching. Gausman has the upside to be the best starter in the Orioles' rotation when his turn comes.

Gausman (shoulder) will be limited to 65 pitches in a rehab start with Double-A Bowie on Thursday, and could rejoin the Orioles after that, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports. Gausman's first rehab start went well, and it appears he'll only require two before returning to the Orioles. Upon his return, the likely scenario includes Bud Norris being bumped to the bullpen and Gausman taking over the fifth spot in the Orioles' rotation. However, it remains to be seen whether that will indeed come to fruition, as expected, or not.

Gausman threw three shutout innings, allowing one hit with no walks and four strikeouts in his first minor league rehab appearance Saturday at High-A. Gausman will head to Double-A and go four innings in his next outing, according to MASN Sports. He figures to get at least two more minor league appearances before being activated. Bud Norris returns to the rotation Sunday, and his spot in the rotation is the least secure as of now. Gausman figures to take that spot when he is healthy.

Gausman (shoulder) will make a three-inning start for High-A Frederick and could join the Orioles' rotation after one or two more such outings, the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina reports. Manager Buck Showalter said Gausman could rejoin the Orioles after two rehab outings but it would more likely require a trio of minor league starts before the club would recall the young hurler. Gausman has better stuff than anyone currently in Baltimore's rotation, so it makes sense that the team would insert him into the mix once he works up to a solid pitch count threshold in the minor leagues. That said, the Orioles have done some puzzling things throughout Gausman's development, so there is no guarantee that he will be handled as expected going forward.

Gausman (shoulder) will pitch for High-A Frederick Saturday before joining the Orioles in Houston and throwing a simulated game Tuesday, followed by a rehab assignment with Double-A Bowie on June 11, Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports. Gausman will be stretched out as a starter with Double-A Bowie, and it appears he could be joining the Orioles' rotation upon activation from the disabled list. In 20 starts with the Orioles last season, the southpaw posted a 3.57 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 88 strikeouts over 113.1 innings.

Gausman (shoulder) is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Norfolk to make starts Jun. 6 and Jun. 11, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports. This will not be a rehab assignment, and while some owners may have expected him to come off the DL and rejoin the Orioles, this is actually a positive development for his 2015 fantasy value. The team apparently expects Gausman to be healthy enough to come off the DL in the coming days, and he will be stretched out as a starter at Triple-A. This means he could slot into the Orioles' rotation at some point in late-June if a need arises. He will work three innings (or 45 pitches) in the Jun. 6 start and will ramp up to four innings in the Jun. 11 start, assuming everything goes according to plan.

Gausman (shoulder) will have a bullpen session Tuesday, will face live hitters Friday followed by a light workout Sunday before throwing two innings in a simulated game Tuesday, Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports. Gausman's recovery plan is pretty mapped out over the next couple weeks, as he continues to work his way back. If no setbacks occur, Gausman will likely pitch in a rehab game or two following the simulated game, and could return to the Orioles' bullpen shortly after that.

Gausman (shoulder) threw 28 pitches in Baltimore's bullpen Saturday and said his shoulder felt great, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports. He will throw another such session Tuesday and will then be reevaluated. Gausman said he liked how the ball was coming out of his hand in Saturday's session, so it sounds like he is progressing nicely.

Gausman (shoulder) made 25 throws from 90 to 120 feet Thursday and has bullpen sessions lined up in the coming days, the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina reports. He will throw a bullpen session Saturday in Miami and then again on Monday, at which point the next step in his rehab will be determined. If Gausman is able to make it back fully healthy then the time out with the injury may not have done much damage to his overall fantasy value in 2015. He was going to be on an innings limit and had not yet found his way into the O's rotation when the injury occurred. Gausman will likely still be on the outside of the rotation when he returns, but if he were to get a spot sometime this summer he could pitch with no restrictions the rest of the way considering the lack of work on his arm so far this season.
