In all likelihood, he'll be shut down for the remainder of the season, but isn't a reliable fantasy option anyways.

Tomlin has suffered from elbow soreness all year, perhaps explaining his horrific stats (5-8 with a 6.36 ERA over 101 1/3 innings). His peripheral stats are much better than those surface-level outputs, so one would assume Tomlin is hurting. Even in the bullpen, Cleveland can't afford to stomach Tomlin's performance much longer. Resolution appears to be coming.

Josh Tomlin has been moved to the bullpen. And he's likely to remain there for the rest of the year. Tomlin has posted a disappointing 5.81 ERA in 97 2/3 innings this season. He holds zero fantasy value.

Josh Tomlin appeared in relief in Tuesday's game against the Royals. The Indians wouldn't reveal over the weekend whether Tomlin would remain in the rotation, but obviously he's been demoted. It's not clear at this point who will take his spot in the rotation Thursday.

Indians manager Manny Acta said no decision has been made on Josh Tomlin's spot in the rotation. "We've talked, but we have to sit back and wait until the trading deadline goes by," said Acta. "We have plenty of time. It would be foolish for us to make any type of move before the deadline." Tomlin holds a 7.02 ERA over his last seven starts and will almost surely lose his spot when Roberto Hernandez is ready. The Indians might not wait that long to make a move, though.
