Josh Tomlin fell to 4-3, allowing four runs (three earned) in Thursday's loss to the Red Sox. Tomlin allowed a season-high nine hits, including a two-run home run to David Ortiz in the fifth inning. He also walked two and struck out three in the effort. Tomlin owns a 3.33 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP with a 38/7 K/BB ratio in 46 innings over seven starts and a three-inning relief appearance. He'll get the Angels at home in his next turn in the rotation.

Josh Tomlin pitched eight innings of three-run ball Saturday in a win over the Rangers. We were among those disappointed when the Indians initially picked Tomlin over Trevor Bauer a month ago, but he's been very good, going 4-2 with a 3.12 ERA. He doesn't have the stuff to keep this up, though as long as he continues to keep the walks to a minimum, he can help the Indians. We wouldn't pick him up in mixed leagues, especially with a start in Fenway next on the schedule.

Josh Tomlin allowed five runs (two earned) over five innings Monday in a loss to the White Sox. The big blow was a three-run homer from Dayan Viciedo in the third inning. Tomlin struck out a season-high eight batters and walked one in the loss. He now holds a 3.04 ERA and 22/4 K/BB ratio over 26 2/3 innings this season and should remain useful in AL-only leagues as long as he holds a rotation spot.

Josh Tomlin allowed two runs on six hits over six innings in Sunday's win over the Rays. Tomlin didn't walk a batter while striking out two in the win. He's now 2-0 with a 2.13 ERA in two starts this year. He'll try to keep it going against the Athletics on Saturday.

Josh Tomlin impressed in his 2014 debut against the Twins on Tuesday, holding the opposition to one run over 6 2/3 innings and earning the win as the Indians emerged victorious by a 4-2 margin. The Indians moved the struggling Carlos Carrasco to the bullpen and elected to have Tomlin take his place. Tomlin had been pitching well in Triple-A, posting a 2.06 ERA with a 28/9 K/BB ratio in 35 innings. His good fortune continued on Tuesday as the right-hander allowed the one run -- a Chris Colabello solo homer -- on four hits and a walk while striking out four. Tomlin will face the Rays on the road next.

Indians recalled RHP Josh Tomlin from Triple-A Columbus. Tomlin will start for the Tribe on Tuesday night against the Twins. It's an easy matchup and Tomlin had good numbers this year at Triple-A, but the 29-year-old has never enjoyed much success at the major league level and can be ignored in standard fantasy leagues.

The Indians announced that Josh Tomlin will move into the rotation and start Tuesday in Carlos Carrasco's place. Truly baffling. Tomlin was a well below average pitcher before undergoing Tommy John surgery and missed most of last year, and that he's had some success in Triple-A this year doesn't figure to change anything. The Indians simply aren't good enough to mess around with stopgaps like this, not with Trevor Bauer so clearly deserving of the chance.

Indians optioned RHP Josh Tomlin to Triple-A Columbus. It's a surprising move, as Tomlin has had a fine spring, but the Indians have decided to go with Carlos Carrasco for the fifth spot in the starting rotation. Chances are Tomlin will find his way into Cleveland's rotation eventually.

Josh Tomlin allowed four runs in 6 1/3 innings during Tuesday's start against the Rangers. Tomlin walked two and allowed seven hits, including a two-run home run to Michael Choice in the sixth inning. The right-hander also struck out five as his Cactus League ERA climbed to 3.54. Tomlin has looked solid this spring and it would be surprising if the Indians didn't slot him at the back of their starting rotation.

Josh Tomlin delivered another strong outing on Friday, limiting the White Sox to two runs on on five hits over his five innings of work. The veteran right-hander struck out five without walking a batter in the game. All of the damage against him came on a pair of solo homers from Conor Gillaspie and Josh Phegley. Tomlin now owns a sparkling 2.57 ERA and 14/2 K/BB ratio through 14 innings on the Cactus League season, and seems like a lock to make the Opening Day rotation.
