It's expected that Jose Reyes and Mark Buehrle will also undergo physical exams, so the 12-player blockbuster trade between the Blue Jays and Marlins might not be official for a couple of days. Assuming everything goes off without a hitch, the Jays will acquire Reyes, Buehrle, Johnson, John Buck, Emilio Bonifacio and cash considerations from the Marlins in exchange for Yunel Escobar, Adeiny Hechavarria, Henderson Alvarez, Anthony DeSclafani, Jake Marisnick, Justin Nicolino and Jeff Mathis.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Marlins are expected to shop Josh Johnson over the offseason. The Marlins listened to offers for the right-hander at the trade deadline but never seemed to be serious about dealing him. That evidently could change now with more teams likely to be in on the bidding. Cafardo notes that the Red Sox had interest in Johnson at the deadline and likely will again this winter. He also lists the Orioles, Blue Jays, Royals, Twins, Rangers and Dodgers as potential players.
