Edgin stranded another inherited runner in making his 10th straight scoreless appearance Wednesday. Edgin has been solid since getting called back up from Triple- A Las Vegas, posting a 1.44 ERA and 0.84 WHIP. He is mainly used against lefties, who are batting just .155 versus him.

Edgin retired all four hitters he faced via strikeout in the Mets' 7-6 loss to the Phillies. Edgin's solid work resulted in criticism for manager Terry Collins, who left Vic Black in to face Chase Utley with two on and two out in the seventh. Utley tripled to drive in two, cutting the Mets' lead to 6-5 in a game they ultimately lost. Edgin has been very good out of the bullpen this year for the Mets and will continue to be used heavily against lefties.

Josh Edgin surrendered three runs -- two earned -- in 1 2/3 innings out of the pen versus the Tigers on Thursday. Edgin has allowed seven runs -- four earned -- and 13 hits in 7 2/3 innings this spring. We'd rate him as the Mets' best lefty reliever, but since he's having a tough time this spring and the Mets have several veterans in camp, it's possible Edgin will be sent down for the first few weeks.
