Schoop (knee) will resume baseball activities Saturday, Rich Dubroff of CSN Baltimore reports. Schoop has been progressing rather slowly in his recovery from a PCL tear and MCL sprain, but he's finally set to begin ramping up his activity. The plan is for Schoop to rejoin the Orioles in Miami next weekend, with the club seemingly wanting to re-evaluate the 23-year-old before plotting out a rehab assignment.

Schoop (knee) could resume baseball activities next week, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports. Schoop has been spending his time rehabbing the injury at the Orioles' spring training facility in Sarasota, Fla., and looks set to receive clearance to test out his knee on the field in the near future. The Orioles are tentatively planning to have the 23-year-old back from the disabled list in June.

Schoop is jogging in a pool as he recovers from his right knee sprain, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports. Schoop continues to work his way back from his knee issue, and jogging in a pool is one way to build up strength in a low-impact environment. He's slated to return at some point in June, and is at least showing some signs of progression.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Thursday that Schoop (knee) is progressing slowly, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports. It doesn't sound as if Schoop suffered a setback, but the team's initial timetable of six-to-eight weeks always seemed a bit optimistic, given that the second baseman suffered a PCL tear and MCL sprain. A mid-June return is probably his best-case scenario, and it remains to be seen what kind of role he'll eventually have. The Orioles have been using Steve Pearce at second base, while Ryan Flaherty (groin) is expected to return from the disabled list this weekend.

Schoop (knee) hopes to begin pool walking next week, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports. He is still in a knee brace at all hours of the day, and likely remains four-to-six weeks from returning to action. Steve Pearce has been playing second base for the O's lately and Everth Cabrera and Ryan Flaherty could also see action there prior to Schoop's return.

Schoop had his injured knee drained Wednesday, according to Baltimore's radio broadcast. Schoop has been on the shelf for about two weeks since suffering a PCL tear and MCL sprain, which should mean he is still 4-to-6 weeks from returning. At this point he is simply rehabbing without baseball activities.

Schoop's (knee) timeline to return appears to be six-to-eight weeks, manager Buck Showalter told MASN Sports. We have been hearing all kinds of timelines, so take this one with a grain of salt as the Orioles seem to be all over the place on how to project the amount of time he will miss. Prior to this, the Orioles had just been hoping he would return this season, then the timeline was down to less than a month. We can reasonably expect the Orioles are learning more about the injury at this point and can make a better guess than they could several days ago.

Schoop (knee) flew to Baltimore's spring training complex to begin rehabbing his knee, MASN Sports reports. The Orioles have been tight lipped on the timeline for Schoop, but the fact he is already rehabbing is a good sign. The injury was classified as a Grade 1 sprain, which is the lightest grade.

Schoop will go to the DL a PCL tear and MCL sprain in his right knee after tripping over a base Friday, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports. There's no timetable on when Schoop can return, but Buck Showalter is optimistic he can back sometime in 2015, according to Eduardo Encinca of The Baltimore Sun. Jimmy Paredes will be called up to replace Schoop on the roster. Long term, Everth Cabrera and Ryan Flaherty can be expected to man second base in Schoop's absence.

Schoop went 2-for-3 with his third homer and a walk Wednesday against the Yankees. Schoop's showing nice pop in the early going, and it seems like he might be a legitimate threat for 20 homers. But he's not going to hit for much average, nor will he provide any speed contributions.
