Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Thursday that Schoop (knee) is progressing slowly, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports. It doesn't sound as if Schoop suffered a setback, but the team's initial timetable of six-to-eight weeks always seemed a bit optimistic, given that the second baseman suffered a PCL tear and MCL sprain. A mid-June return is probably his best-case scenario, and it remains to be seen what kind of role he'll eventually have. The Orioles have been using Steve Pearce at second base, while Ryan Flaherty (groin) is expected to return from the disabled list this weekend.
