Schoop underwent X-rays on his right hand that returned negative, but he doesn't know if he will play Friday, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schoop exited Thursday's game with the injury, and is reportedly dealing with some swelling and stiffness. He'll likely get a better idea of where he's at after a night's sleep, but the Orioles have no reason to push him into action having been eliminated from playoff contention.

Schoop departed Thursday's game with a right hand contusion, Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schoop was removed in the first inning and replaced at second base by Paul Janish. The contusion designation indicates the the ailment likely isn't serious, though Schoop will undergo further evaluation by the team's medical staff.

Schoop went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 5-4 win over the Nationals on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Schoop was in a bit of a slump as of late, going 2-for-20 over his previous five games. It's been a breakout season for the young second baseman, as he has 15 homers and 39 RBI in 79 games played this season. That puts Schoop on a 30-plus home run pace for a full season and would make him a must own in all formats. Be sure to circle Schoop's name going into drafts next season, as he may be overlooked with under 100 games played.

Schoop went 3-for-4 with two homers in the Orioles' 8-2 win over the Royals on Sunday night.
EDGE Analysis
Schoop has been sizzling since returning from the DL in early July, batting .295/.323/.507 with 11 homers during that span. Unfortunately, his typically low spot in the Orioles' batting order hasn't lent itself to many RBI or run-scoring opportunities. The 23-year-old could be a deserving of an appointment closer to the middle of the lineup in 2016, and if health permits, he could be one of the most valuable fantasy commodities at second base.

Schoop went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer against the Rays on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He came into the bottom of the ninth 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts, but slugged the game-tying two-run shot off Rays closer Brad Boxberger. Schoop's hit for surprising average this season -- he's still at .290 -- but that .343 BABIP is going to be awful tough to sustain, so there's room for some regression both there and in his home-run rate, which is far higher than any he's shown before.

Schoop is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Nationals, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports. Schoop hit a walk-off homer to beat the Nationals on Friday, giving him five homers in just 44 at-bats this season. He's been getting most of the playing time at second base since returning from a knee injury, with Saturday marking just his second absence from the lineup in six games. Ryan Flaherty may get a start or two per week against right-handed pitchers, but Schoop should continue to see the lion's share of at-bats.

Schoop was 2-for-4 with a ninth inning solo home run in Baltimore's walk-off win over the Nationals on Friday night. Schoop missed almost three months, but has come back and immediately contributed with a pair of home runs and a stolen base since his return on July 5. He even provided a little flare for the dramatic launching a two-out solo home run in the ninth inning of this one to give the O's a win. He figures to get most of the playing time at second base going forward.

Schoop is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Minnesota, MASN Sports' Roch Kubatko reports. Schoop is off to a strong start since returning from an extended stint on the disabled list Sunday, with a home run and a stolen base in his first two games. He figures to serve as the regular second baseman, but Ryan Flaherty will start Tuesday's game.

Schoop (knee) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Sunday in his first game back from the DL. He touched up lefty Carlos Rodon in his first plate appearance since Apr. 17, and while Schoop wasn't able to get anything going in his other four trips, he was also credited with an RBI on a fielder's choice in the seventh inning. Schoop now has four homers in just 10 games this season (32 at-bats). It looks like he will serve as the primary second baseman moving forward, with Ryan Flaherty sent back to the minors.

Schoop (knee) was reinstated from the 60-day DL on Sunday, MASN Sports' Roch Kubatko reports. With the Orioles sending Ryan Flaherty down to Triple-A Norfolk, Schoop will have a clear path to at-bats as he returns to action with the big club for the first time since mid-April. Schoop was off to a 7-for-27 start to the season and homered three times in nine games before succumbing to the knee injury. His average may remain a bit of risk the rest of the day, but he should be capable of providing above-average pop from a middle-infield spot.
