Schoop (knee) went 2-for-4 with a homer in a rehab game with High-A Frederick on Thursday. A decision to activate and option Schoop may be coming as soon as Saturday, as the Orioles have very little roster flexibility at the present time with several veteran players out of minor league options occupying spots on the 25-man roster.

Schoop (knee) may be optioned to the minor leagues when his rehab assignment ends Friday, MASN Sports' Roch Kubatko reports. Schoop will play with High-A Frederick this week, and while the Orioles may keep him down in the minors beyond Friday's rehab assignment deadline, he still figures to join the big-league squad at some point in July. He should eventually see a good chunk of the playing time at second base, but he won't necessarily have an every-day role.

Schoop (knee) worked out with the Orioles at Camden Yards on Sunday and could be nearing an activation, MASN Sports' Roch Kubatko reports. The Orioles are expected to decide Monday whether or not to activate Schoop or send him to Triple-A Norfolk to advance his rehab assignment. The 23-year-old went 6-for-25 with three homers and six RBI during his stint with Double-A Bowie, and seems to be nearing the end of his recovery process. Once activated, he'll likely take over regular duties at the keystone from Ryan Flaherty.

Schoop (knee) will return to Double-A Bowie for another rehab game Friday night, Rich Dubroff of CSN Baltimore reports. It will likely be another day or two before the Orioles figure out how to bring Schoop back onto their roster, as the team is currently facing a roster crunch. Since Schoop is on the 60-day DL, the O's will have to clear space on the 40-man roster for his return.

Schoop (knee) is close to returning to the Orioles, Britt Ghiroli of MLB.com reports. Manager Buck Showalter said Schoop could join the Orioles immediately in the event of a positional need, but the team will bring him along slowly as he works back from a right knee sprain. Schoop is currently rehabbing at Double-A Bowie.

Schoop (knee) will play his third consecutive rehab game for Double-A Bowie on Sunday, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports. Schoop is hitless in his first eight at-bats at Double-A, striking out four times over that stretch. Although those results don't seem particularly encouraging, the Orioles appear to be more concerned about his durability following a knee sprain in mid-April. If he can continue to play full games without experiencing further issues, Schoop's activation could be right around the corner.

Schoop (knee) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Tuesday. The move will free up a spot on the 40-man roster for OF/1B Chris Parmelee. Schoop has already been out for two months, and while he's been working out with his teammates in Baltimore, he's still not expected to return until sometime around the All-Star break. It's unclear exactly what kind of role he'll have once he's ready.

Schoop worked out with the Orioles on Monday and took grounders at second base, Eddie Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports. As expected, Schoop is back with the big league club on a rehab basis as he continues to work back from a knee injury. He'll remain with the Orioles until Thursday, at which point he's slated to head to Double-A Bowie to continue rehabbing. Schoop remains hopeful to return around the All-Star break.

Schoop (knee) will work out with the Orioles next week, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports. The current plan calls for Schoop to rehab with the major league club from Monday through Thursday before possibly joining Double-A Bowie for more workouts. If all goes well, Schoop, who has been slowly building up strength in his knee down at extended spring training, could start playing in rehab games shortly after joining Bowie.

Schoop (knee) is playing in extended spring training games and could be back with the Orioles before the All-Star break, Brittany Ghiroli of Orioles.com reports. Schoop resumed baseball activities in mid-May after tearing his PCL and MCL in April. He's without a firm timetable, but if he continues to progress, Baltimore could have the infielder back before the end of the month.
