Schoop went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer Wednesday, but it was not enough as the Orioles fell to the Blue Jays 5-3.
EDGE Analysis
The home run was Schoop's 21st of the year, and the trio of hits raised his batting average to .282. They say a rising tide lifts all boats, and the mysterious league-wide surge in offensive production from second baseman has helped Schoop to a career year. The 21 home runs, 70 RBI, and 71 runs are all career bests for Schoop, who is still just 24 years old. While his 18 walks on the year are low to the point of concern, Schoop seems to be following in the footsteps of another Oriole, Adam Jones, who has found success despite a notoriously low walk rate throughout his career.

Schoop will hit leadoff in Monday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
With Adam Jones (hamstring) out Monday for the third day in a row, the Orioles will again need a leadoff hitter, and manager Buck Showalter will use Schoop there for the first time in his career. Schoop has seen the ball well of late, hitting .295 in 12 games since Aug. 17.

Schoop went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Baltimore's victory over the Nationals on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Schoop and teammate Mark Trumbo both homered for the second game in a row on Monday. The second baseman has been a force at the plate, collecting 20 home runs and 65 RBI for the O's-both easily career highs. With a .284 average, he also has proven that last year's .279 clip was not a fluke.

Schoop went 1-for-4 with his 19th home run of the season -- a solo shot off Dallas Keuchel -- during Sunday's 5-3 loss to Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Schoop evened the score at one in the bottom of the fourth inning Sunday with a 411-foot shot over the center field wall. The 24-year-old is one homer shy of reaching 20 for the first time in his young career.

Schoop went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and another run scored in Sunday's win over the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was his 17th of the season, a new career high, and Schoop is enjoying his third straight solid month with a .282/.309/.513 slash line, four HR and 12 RBI in 78 July at-bats. He hasn't drawn a walk all month though, posting a 0:16 BB:K so far, so a batting average correction could be coming.

Schoop went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run in Thursday's afternoon affair with the Yanks.
EDGE Analysis
Entering Thursday's game in the Bronx, Schoop had just two RBI in his 24 at-bats since the break. He doubled that with his 27th multi-hit game of the season to help the O's avoid a sweep in the series finale. The second baseman has an affection for day games, as is evident by his .381/.398/.628 line when the sun is high. On the flip side, Schoop is slashing just .256/.296/.455 when playing under the lights. The sample size is big enough to take this trend seriously moving forward.

Schoop was the entirety of the offense for the Orioles on Monday, hitting a solo home run in Baltimore's loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Schoop has been on a tear this month, hitting safely in all but one game this July. Since the start of June Schoop has watched his average rise 34 points, hitting eight home runs and driving in 26 runs. The second baseman now is hitting .301 with 16 home runs for the season.

Schoop went 1-for-4 with a go-ahead solo homer in Friday's 4-3 victory over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
The young slugger's 406-foot solo shot off Chris Archer in the eighth broke a 3-3 deadlock, and ended up being the difference in the game. Schoop's hitting streak is now at 10 games, and he's hit safely in 20 of the last 21 contests. He's already slashing .341/.386/.537 in July, and is just one homer short of equaling the career-best 16 he hit in 2014.

Schoop went 2-for-3 with a solo homer in Friday's 9-5 loss to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old continues to wield one of the hottest bats in the majors in what has become a breakout season. Schoop is now slashing .302/.337/.513, and has a seven-game hitting streak. He's also hit safely in 19 of his last 20 games, and is already hitting .345 over his first 29 at-bats of July.

Schoop, who has been hitting No. 2 in the order against left-handers recently, is 16-for-39 (.410) with one home run and seven doubles when hitting at that slot this season.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles are platooning Hyun Soo Kim to start against right-handers, but when Kim sees the bench Schoop gets bumped up in the order. This almost always results in hitting behind Adam Jones and in front of Manny Machado, Mark Trumbo and Chris Davis. Schoop's success may be driven some by those around him, but he has actually been better against right-handers this season (.312/.340/.510 vs. RHP, .267/.304/.467 vs. LHP). Kim's numbers are even stronger against right-handers, so a full time move to No. 2 is not in the cards at this time.
