Panik (concussion) said that he is scheduled to play three more rehab games and will be back with the big league club this weekend if everything goes well, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik would be a big addition back to the Giants, who have been playing Ramiro Pena and Grant Green at second base in his absence. Upon his return, Panik should regain his spot near the top of the starting lineup. The Giants host the Nationals this weekend before heading to Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Panik (concussion) is not ready to be activated, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
His absence from the lineup at Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday was not seen initially as cause for concern, as it was presumed he was on his way to join the club in New York, but it's now sounding as though Panik may have suffered a setback. Concussion symptoms forced Panik to the DL at the end of June, more than a week after he was hit on the helmet by a pitch. The Giants figure to elaborate on Panik's condition in short order.

Panik (concussion) is not in the lineup for Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Andrew Baggarly of the Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The original plan was for Panik to play nine innings Thursday in what would have been his third rehab game. A reason for his absence was not immediately given, but chances are Panik is on his way to New York to join the major league club for its weekend series against the Yankees, with the Giants deciding two rehab games was sufficient. Look for Panik to return to second base and the two-hole in the order right away.
