Panik (concussion) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The plan is for Panik to play three-to-four games with the affiliate before rejoining the major league club in New York next weekend, assuming his concussion symptoms don't resurface. Panik's symptoms did not originally surface until 10 days or so after he was hit on the head by a pitch in mid-June. He was given the 7-day tag initially but the Giants were eventually forced to transfer Panik to the 15-day DL.
