Panik is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
After manning second second base for the first three games of the season, Panik will get a day of rest as Aaron Hill takes over for him. The 26-year-old is off to a hot start (5-for-13) this season and should find himself back in the starting lineup Friday.

Panik went 3-for-4 with a double and a pair of runs scored in Tuesday's 8-4 win over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Batting eighth in the batting order is usually the least-favorable position to provide counting stats, but the second baseman has managed to provide three runs and an RBI through two games. Denard Span (hip) is dealing with a minor injury, so Panik could temporarily move higher in the lineup if the veteran outfielder is forced to miss additional time. Outside of injuries, it appears the 26-year-old is poised to bat eighth this season, which will inevitably limit his value.

Panik will man second base and bat eighth in the order during Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
An earlier lineup had listed Panik as the Giants' ninth hitter behind starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner, but the two are actually flipping spots in the order. After a disappointing 2016 campaign that was tarnished in part due to injury, it looks like Panik will have to prove himself in the lower third of the lineup before potentially moving into a table-settling role if his skills as a contact hitter reemerge.

Panik (shoulder) is in the lineup for Thursday's game against Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
After sitting out a couple days to avoid aggravating his shoulder, Panik is set to return to action. Panik's numbers this spring have been reminiscent of what he's shown through his career, as he's hitting .273 with a .774 OPS through 17 games.

Panik was diagnosed with a bruise on his right scapula after taking a hit by pitch in a spring training game Monday, Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
X-rays were precautionary, as the Giants didn't expect a major injury, but confirmation is always good. It wouldn't be surprising if Panik sits out of spring action for a few days, but he should be ready to go come Opening Day.

Panik was hit by a pitch in Monday's game against the Reds and left the game an inning later, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik was able to get another at-bat in before he left the game, and it still not known whether his exit was actually injury-related or just an ordinary substitution. There should be more information available regarding his status once Monday's game concludes, but as of now, there is nothing to suggest that his exit is a sign of anything serious.

Panik batted second and went 1-for-2 with a run scored in his spring training debut Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Panik is coming off of a down year, slashing .239/.315/.379 in an injury-shortened season. He did hit 10 homers and maintained an isolated power rating (.140) near what he posted in 2015. He got off to a cold start, and when he began heating up with the weather, he was struck in the head with a fastball and had to go on the disabled list with a concussion in June. Panik maintained his high contact rate all season (90 percent), but his line drive percentage dipped and his ground ball and fly ball rates both increased, which is the recipe for a lowered batting average. He enters 2017 healthy and will look to return to his consistent hitting ways. He won't be on fantasy radars outside of deeper formats, but he is a player that could help with batting average and runs scored if he can return to form.

Panik is not in the lineup for Game 1 of the NLDS against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Panic batted only .226 against lefties this season, so he'll head to the bench with left-hander Jon Lester toeing the rubber for Chicago. Kelby Tomlinson will man the keystone in his stead.

Panik is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers, according to CSN's Alex Pavlovic.
EDGE Analysis
Panik is hitting just .171 in September and the Giants are facing a tough lefty Friday in Rich Hill, so Panik will be held out in favor of Kelby Tomlinson.

Panik is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Panik is hitting just .236 against left-handed pitching, so he'll sit out Sunday against San Diego's Clayton Richard. Kelby Tomlinson will head out to second base and hit second in Panik's absence.
