Panik (groin) is back in the lineup Friday against the Rockies, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
After missing nearly a week with the groin issue, Panik will slot back in at second base and the two-hole in the batting order to face right-hander Chad Bettis. The 25-year-old Panik has hit lefties at a much better clip than righties so far this season, but he had a .318/.379/.473 line against right-handers last year, so it seems like only a matter of time before his splits reverse back.

Panik (groin) will be available to pinch hit Thursday against the Rockies, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The groin injury will keep Panik on the bench again Thursday, marking his sixth consecutive absence, but the 25-year-old is optimistic he'll make it back into the lineup at some point during the Colorado series. Panik was able to do some running Thursday afternoon and is slated to take batting practice.

Panik (groin) is out of the lineup for the sixth day in a row, Amy Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik has been out of the lineup since Saturday, and it appears that his groin is still bothering him to the extent that it keeps him out. As was the case the past few days, Kelby Tomlinson will fill in for him at second base.

Panik (groin) is not in the lineup Wednesday for the fifth day in a row.
EDGE Analysis
Panik will again be held out in favor of Kelby Tomlinson as he continues to battle a groin injury. He presumably remains day-to-day for now, but if he does not return in the next day or two, the Giants could decide to place him on the disabled list since they could backdate the move to April 30.

Panik (groin) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Panik has been day-to-day since April 29, but hopes to get back in the lineup toward the end of the week. He could be available to pinch hit in these games, but it is unlikely he is at full strength for a couple more days.

Panik (groin) increased his baseball activities Monday and will attempt to hit from a tee. He is questionable to play through Wednesday, Andrew Baggarly reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants will likely back off Panik for another day or two, and how he responds to the increased workload during workouts will determine if he's able to return to the starting lineup later this week.

Panik (groin) will not be ready to return to the lineup until at least Tuesday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to the report, Panik will miss Monday's matchup against the Reds, but it doesn't appear he's necessarily a lock to slot back into the lineup Tuesday either. Until he's ready, look for Kelby Tomlinson to continue getting extra reps at the keystone.

Panik (groin) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Panik has now missed back-to-back games due to groin soreness, and will effectively give way to Kelby Tomlinson at the keystone for the second straight day. Consider Panik day-to-day heading in to Monday's series opener in Cincinnati.

Panik (groin) is out of the lineup Saturday against the Mets, CSN Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reports.
EDGE Analysis
He tweaked his groin in Friday's game, and is day-to-day. Kelby Tomlinson is starting at second base Saturday and figures to continue to do so until Panik returns.

Panik is dealing with a sore groin and will be reevaluated Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik admitted that he didn't think the injury was serious, but the results of his reexamination will serve as the determining factor of if he'll be in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets. If he's unable to play, Matt Duffy or Kelby Tomlinson will likely start at second in his place.
