Fact is, the Phillies will have to make a competitive bid, and Rollins is known to be seeking a five-year deal. On a free agent market that lacks depth, the 32-year-old shortstop could be a hot commodity.

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel is going with his standard lineup in Game 5 against the Cardinals on Friday night, complete with Jimmy Rollins out of the leadoff spot. Rollins is batting .563 (9-for-16) with four doubles during the NLDS, including a pair of doubles against Carpenter in Game 2. Rollins is getting hot for the Phillies just in time, as it's his second straight game with a homer and his fourth straight game with at least two hits. He's got his batting line up to .271/.340/.403 for the season to go along with 16 homers and 63 RBI.
