Jimmy Rollins told Jon Heyman of SI.com that he hopes to get a five-year contract in free agency this winter. "Five would be great. Five would be the number,'' said Rollins. "I don't think I want six or seven. You start thinking about 39 (years old). Do I want to play at 39?'' Five years is probably a stretch for someone who will be 33 years old next season, but a pair of baseball executives estimated that Rollins could receive a contract ranging from three years and at least $12 million per year to four years and $14 million per season. For what it's worth, Heyman hears that the Phillies would prefer to keep him with a three-year deal. Ultimately, Rollins may be a cheaper alternative for teams interested in Jose Reyes.
