Jimmy Rollins (groin) is expected to return to the Phillies' starting lineup on Monday night.
Rollins was activated from the disabled list last Thursday after spending a little over two weeks recovering from a strained groin muscle, but he has only been used as a pinch-hitter since his return. That should change Monday when the Phillies open a series against the Astros.

Phillies activated SS Jimmy Rollins from the 15-day disabled list.
Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. hinted at the possibility on Wednesday night. Rollins likely won't be in the starting lineup right away, but will provide some infield depth while Chase Utley is sidelined with what is being terms as a "mild concussion." The Phillies were aiming for him to return sometime next week and chances are they will continue to take it slow with him.

Jimmy Rollins (groin) could be activated from the disabled list Thursday.
But he won't be in the starting lineup right away. The Phillies are simply looking for some infield depth now that Chase Utley is sidelined with what is believed to be a mild concussion. Rollins will only be available in an emergency initially and it will likely be a few days before he's ready to return to the starting lineup.

Jimmy Rollins took batting practice Wednesday and has been fielding ground balls, but he's yet to test out his groin by running.
"I don't know what we can do about it until he runs and he feels like he's ready to play," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. "We get a medical report on him every day, and it says he's getting better." Rollins is eligible to return from the DL at any time, but we won't have a timetable on him until he starts running at full speed. Obviously the Phils have the luxury of taking it slow with him.

Jimmy Rollins (groin) will not return Tuesday.
Rollins has now spent 15 days on the disabled list, but his groin strain still isn't completely healed and might not be for another week. "I think it's going to be a day-to-day thing as to when he's going to be ready, and ready to go," GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said. "But he's getting closer."

Jimmy Rollins (groin) did some running drills Monday and took swings in the batting cage.
Rollins wouldn't predict how close he is to returning to the major leagues, but mid-September would seem to be a realistic goal. The 32-year-old shortstop has been on the disabled list since August 22 with a Grade 2 strain of his right groin. "I'm not all concerned about the date," GM Ruben Amaro said. "What I'm concerned about is getting him back healthy."

Jimmy Rollins (groin) is moving around better but is unlikely to return when first eligible on September 6.
It's not surprising, as a Grade 2 groin strain didn't figure to be a minimum DL stint type injury. We won't have a better idea about Rollins' potential return date until he starts performing baseball-related activities, and there's no timetable for when that might happen. Wilson Valdez will continue to fill in at shortstop.

Phillies placed SS Jimmy Rollins on the 15-day disabled list with a Grade 2 strain of his right groin.
Rollins suffered the injury Sunday while making a play up the middle and is expected to miss around three weeks. The 32-year-old shortstop has 14 home runs, 58 RBI and 28 steals in 121 games this season for the first-place Phillies. Wilson Valdez will fill in until early September.

An MRI taken Monday morning on Jimmy Rollins' right groin revealed a mild Grade 2 strain.
Rollins announced the news Monday on his personal Twitter account. He will be placed on the 15-day disabled list shortly and is likely to miss around three weeks of action. The 32-year-old is batting .268/.342/.402 with 14 homers, 58 RBI and 28 steals in 121 games this year. Wilson Valdez is expected to fill in at shortstop.

Jimmy Rollins (groin) will have an MRI on Monday.
Rollins left Sunday's game in the third inning with a strained right groin, injuring himself when he made a play up the middle to rob Jesus Flores of a hit. The Phillies are calling him day-to-day right now, but we should know on Monday whether or not he needs to miss any games.
