Jeremy Guthrie (shoulder) tossed four scoreless innings Thursday in a minor league rehab game with High-A Modesto. Guthrie allowed only two hits while striking out four and walking just one. Barring any setbacks, he is expected to return to start Tuesday against the Giants. The 33-year-old right-hander had a 5.92 ERA over four starts prior to injuring his right shoulder in a bicycle accident two weeks ago.

Jeremy Guthrie (shoulder) threw about 20 pitches to hitters Tuesday and experienced no issues with the AC joint in his right shoulder. Rockies head athletic trainer Keith Dugger said Guthrie looked "fabulous." He's expected to make a minor league rehab start Thursday with High-A Modesto before rejoining the Rockies. The 33-year-old right-hander had a 5.92 ERA across four starts prior to the injury.

Jeremy Guthrie (shoulder) will face hitters at Petco Park Tuesday before beginning a rehab assignment with Triple-A Colorado Springs. He might need just one rehab outing before rejoining the Rockies rotation if he feels well. Guthrie has been nursing some stiffness in his AC joint, which was the result of a bike accident. He posted a 5.92 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over four starts before the injury.

Jeremy Guthrie will not be ready to start Tuesday against the Padres after he his throwing session Saturday was scrapped due to continued shoulder soreness. "Jeremy was still somewhat tentative in a bullpen session (Friday)," Rockies manager Jim Tracy said. "What Doogie (trainer Keith Dugger) saw strongly suggested that we don't move forward yet and even attempt to throw to hitters." Guthrie probably won't be out much longer, but the Rockies will have to alter their immediate plans. They're likely to start Alex White on Tuesday and either Carlos Torres or Christian Friedrich Wednesday.

Jeremy Guthrie said his shoulder "gets better each day," and he remains hopeful that he'll rejoin the rotation Tuesday in San Diego. "It gets better each day," Guthrie said. "The little bit of soreness continues to improve. I haven't talked to anybody that makes those decisions, but if it's (about) how I feel, I'll be pitching." A decision will likely be made over the weekend, when Guthrie is expected to throw his first bullpen session since the injury. Thus far, he's only played catch from 200 feet.

Jeremy Guthrie (shoulder) played catch Tuesday at 200 feet but still has some stiffness in his AC joint. The Rockies still remain hopeful that he'll be ready to return on May 8, but they won't have a better idea until he throws his first bullpen session. Guthrie was placed on the disabled list over the weekend after hurting himself in a bike accident.

Jeremy Guthrie will be placed on the disabled list after spraining his right shoulder Friday in a bicycle accident. Guthrie suffered the injury when the chain on his bicycle broke and pulled him down to the ground. While an MRI revealed no structural damage, he's likely to miss the next couple of turns in the rotation. Guillermo Moscoso will be called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs to start Saturday against the Mets.

Jeremy Guthrie breezed by the Brewers in Sunday's 4-1 win, allowing just one run on three hits in seven innings of work. Guthrie struck out two and walked three as he improved to 2-1 as a Rockie. Both of his wins have come on the road, however, while he's allowed six runs in each of his first two outings at Coors Field. For now, he's a strict fantasy no-go when pitching at home. He'll get the Mets in Denver next weekend.

Jeremy Guthrie struggled in his first career start at Coors Field Wednesday, allowing six runs on nine hits, two walks and two home runs in just 3 1/3 innings of Colorado's 17-8 win over the Giants. Guthrie notched just one strikeout five days after turning in seven strong innings against the Astros. A flyball pitcher who has always allowed his fair share of home runs, Guthrie's adjustment to Coors Field could be long and slow. He'll get the Padres at home next Monday.
