Jeremy Guthrie will make his first start with the Royals on Sunday against the Twins. Guthrie was acquired from the Rockies on Friday for left-hander Jonathan Sanchez. While the 33-year-old was ill-suited for the thin air in Colorado, he had a 3.67 ERA in eight starts and two relief appearances on the road. He's worth a look in AL-only leagues.

Royals acquired RHP Jeremy Guthrie from the Rockies for LHP Jonathan Sanchez. A flyball machine, Guthrie was always a poor fit in Colorado, and he ends his stint there with a 6.35 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over 19 games -- 15 starts. He's posted a 3.67 ERA in eight starts and two relief appearances on the road, though, and is actually a decent rebound candidate with the Royals. He'll presumably slide into their rotation.

Jeremy Guthrie was pulled after allowing six runs -- four earned -- in 2 2/3 innings Wednesday in his start against the Pirates. The Rockies really need to find a taker for Guthrie. After another ugly home outing today, he's allowed 46 runs and 14 homers in 41 2/3 innings at Coors Field. His road ERA is 3.67 in eight starts and two relief appearances, so he might be able to help another team.

Jeremy Guthrie was knocked around in Saturday's loss to the Phillies, giving up four runs on seven hits in just 4 2/3 innings of work. Guthrie punched out three while walking two. The Colorado rotation continues to disappoint, with Guthrie leading the charge. He now sits at 3-9 on the year with an atrocious 6.14 ERA through 88 innings. The right-hander will hope for better results when he takes on the Padres in San Diego on Friday.

Jeremy Guthrie took a no-decision in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Nationals, allowing two runs on six hits in six innings of work. He struck out three and walked one. Guthrie has now been quality in each of his first two outings since rejoining the Rox rotation on July 4. Of course, both starts came away from Coors Field. Guthrie will enter the All-Star break the owner of a horrendous 6.05 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 41/28 K/BB ratio through 83 1/3 innings. He needs a trade out of Colorado to return to fantasy relevancy.

Making his first start since June 17, Jeremy Guthrie held the Cardinals to two runs on six hits in six innings of Wednesday's loss. Guthrie struck out two, walked one and threw 84 pitches in his final outing before the All-Star break. Presumably still on the trade block, it's not inconceivable tonight was Guthrie's final appearance in a Rockies uniform. Through 77 1/3 frames, he's now the owner of a 6.28 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 38/27 K/BB ratio.

Rockies pitching coach Bob Apodoca has asked for and been granted a role reassignment. Apodoca apparently wasn't a supporter of management's decision to convert to a four-man rotation. Colorado has a hideous 5.29 staff ERA this season, which ranks dead last in the major leagues. The Twins are 29th with a 4.96 staff ERA and the Indians are 28th with a mark of 4.58.

Jeremy Guthrie is being moved to the bullpen. Guthrie went from Opening Day starter to long relief man in just under three months. The 33-year-old right-hander registered an awful 7.02 ERA and 1.83 WHIP in 11 starts for Colorado, fanning just 30 batters and walking 23 in 59 innings of work. He can obviously be dropped in all fantasy formats -- if he was, for some reason, owned. The Rockies are going to try out a four-man rotation.

According to the Denver Post's Troy Renck, ''it would be an upset'' if Jeremy Guthrie makes another appearance with the Rockies. The Blue Jays have already offered prospect Matt McDade in exchange for Guthrie, but the Rockies reportedly prefer a pitcher or middle infielder. Renck adds that relievers Rafael Betancourt and Matt Belisle have also drawn recent interest, and expects Marco Scutaro and Jason Giambi to be among several players traded before July's trade deadline.

The Rockies and Blue Jays have discussed a Jeremy Guthrie trade, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal. According to the report, the Jays, who lost three starters to injury over four games last week, would pay most of the roughly $5 million salary owed to Guthrie until season's end. In return, Colorado would receive a "lesser prospect." Rosenthal suggests Double-A first baseman Mike McDade. The Rockies are discussing Guthrie with other organizations and the Jays are talking to other clubs about starting pitchers, according to Rosenthal. Guthrie has been a disaster in Colorado, posting a 7.02 ERA over 59 innings.
