Taillon didn't factor into the decision Saturday versus the Brewers, giving up five earned runs on seven hits and two walks over three innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
After an impressively consistent stretch of performances to start his major league career, Taillon ran into a major bump in the road Saturday. He got into trouble early, surrendering a 398-foot three-run homer to Hernan Perez and RBI single to Orlando Arcia. Perez then came back to connect on a 414-foot solo blast to center in the third, helping to cut Taillon's night short after 57 pitches. The three innings represented the rookie's shortest stint on the mound this season, while the five earned runs were the most scored on him throughout his 13 starts. Taillon will try to redeem himself when he faces the Brewers next Friday.

Taillon (3-3) was a tough-luck loser on Monday, holding the Astros to two runs in his eight innings. He gave up four hits, walked one, and struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon's eight strikeouts were a career-high for the rookie. He has earned a quality start in each of his last five outings, walking a total of just five in that span compared to 29 strikeouts. The 24-year-old will carry a sterling 2.92 ERA into his start Saturday against Milwaukee.

Taillon allowed three runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon continues his excellent run in his first major league stint, as Tuesday's outing extended his quality start streak to seven games. Although Taillon generated excitement as a power pitcher, his control has been the real outstanding aspect of his game over this hot streak. He has issued just four walks over 44 innings (0.8 BB/9) and struck out 37 batters in his past seven starts. Taillon's ERA sits at an even 3.00, and if Taillon can continue to pound the strike zone like this, there's no reason he can't sustain this performance.

Taillon (3-2) dealt eight scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out four Padres in Thursday's win.
EDGE Analysis
Making his 10th big league start, Taillon was efficient and in control throughout the afternoon while lowering his ERA to 2.85, its best mark since June 14. The right-hander added a few more changeups to his usual mix of fastballs and curveballs on Thursday, keeping the Padres off-balance and adding new wrinkles to his game. Taillon, who hadn't thrown more than 95 pitches in any of his first eight MLB starts, was pumping his fastball in the mid-90s during eighth inning of his second 100-plus pitch performance. The rookie continues to pitch with poise and polish beyond his years, and by now, Taillon should be off the wire in most all formats.

Taillon threw a career-high 102 pitches and walked his first batter in five starts Friday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
He's been the Bucs' most consistent starter over the last month. Taillon features a 3.03 xFIP, 2.39 GB:FB and has walked only six batters in 52 innings. Pittsburgh hasn't revealed specifics as to how it will handle the rest of Taillon's 2016 starts, but expect the team to be conservative with its budding star -- especially if the Pirates fall further out of postseason contention. The righty missed all of 2014 and 2015.

Taillon didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 3-2 victory over the Reds, but surrendered only an earned run on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie put together his fifth straight quality start and has gone six innings in each of those outings. He also stayed away from the long ball altogether for the first time in the last three trips to the mound, while firing 71 of his 102 pitches for strikes and notching first-pitch strikes on 18 of 25 batters faced. Taillon continues to demonstrate excellent control as well, as evidenced by his sparkling 43:6 K:BB. He'll look to continue his impressive rookie campaign when he takes on the Padres next Thursday.

Taillon (2-2) allowed two runs on six hits, struck out six and walked none over six innings in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The only blemish on Taillon's night was a two-run homer in the first inning. Over the next four frames, the only base runner he allowed reached on a bunt single. Taillon threw 91 pitches, which was his most since returning from the disabled list. He is now 2-2 with a 3.52 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 37 strikeouts in 46 innings this season. His next start will be Friday against the Reds.

Taillon is scheduled to start Saturday against the Brewers, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon was initially slated to pitch Friday, but will now be taking the mound Saturday in Milwaukee. This will be the rookie's first outing against the Brewers, however, he's found success when pitching on the road, as he's 2-1 with a 2.50 ERA away from home.

Taillon (head) allowed four runs on eight hits while striking out seven over six innings, but received no decision Sunday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon left the contest with a 4-2 deficit, but the offense came up with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take him off the hook for a potential loss. This was the first time in three starts that he's allowed more than one earned run, and his ERA is now at 3.83. He'll make his next start Sunday at the Brewers.

Taillon (head) will take the mound for the Pirates on Sunday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon was hit in the head with a comebacker in Tuesday's start against the Brewers, but he reported no symptoms the following day and will make his next start, as expected. He'll face a bit of a depleted Philadelphia lineup that will be missing Tommy Joseph (rest), Cameron Rupp (head) and Maikel Franco (wrist).
